Well, I got a new accessory.........
Ever since I have been out my digi camera with the 10x optical I have been sad. Getting the XTI for Christmas was sure good but I needed to be able to reach out a little further than the stock lens would do. So I picked this up over the weekend and I'm looking forward to taking this out to the field and getting a couple of shots with it. Should be fun!!!

I want to get the Pentax K100 because my grandpa has a lot of pentax glass. (LOOOONG lenses, wide angle etc) And pentax lenses fit any camera they have ever made or so I'm told.

And thats a lot cheaper than the lenses! Some of them are the kind that you attach to a tripod and screw the camera on to!

This isn't a super long lens, but I think that it will be good for a while. I'll report with pictures if I ever get out to the field again!!!

Just get you a good optical doubler and you will have a long lens that will do a good job on most days.

Yah, I had thought about that but I think that if I go longer I would want an IS lens. But we'll see how this works. I'll see if I can rent one from the camera shop or give it a try and see how well it works.

The only problem with the IS lenses are the price. They do a great job I just can't choke down the cost. I have used a doubler on up to a 500mm lens with good results. The only problem with using a doubler is that they decrease the amount of light. Example an 200mm f4 lens would be effectively a 400 f8 lens. On a good sunny day you can still get good action shots.

Congrats on the 4L, it is a great lens. I have the 2.8L with IS, it is practically the only lens I use for plane photography. I also have the 100-400L IS but the 70-200 is sharper.

The 100-400L IS was the one that I really wanted, but it is much more $$. This is good to get my feet wet.

nice!!! youll love the USM drive, i just got a 78-105 f3.5 Canon USM and its great!! not as long as some but i can still use it close to things with out haven to be a mile away heheh here my fave pic so far.. have yet to get rc till tonight eheh

thats a nice pic.....I need to put our hummingbird feeder out and see if there are any around the house... My mom took a pic of a Bee going to a cactus flower while they were out in California, really cool pic. She used a Olympus point and shoot. Came out really good. Let me see if I can get a hold of it.
