There has been a lot of threads on problems with Spektrum and Extreme Link 2.4 Ghz systems. I would like to post successful Rx installation set-ups.
I have had over 25 glitch free flights with my QQ 102" Yak and my Spektrum DX7 and AR7000 RX. Next week I hope to be installing my AR9000 Rx. The first picture is my QQ Yak. The satellite RX is located below the wing. Please notice I taped a tooth pick to the two antenna. I'm trying to gain some added support and eliminate any strain. The main AR7000 Rx is in the middle of the fuselage. All servo leads have ween tie wrapped away from the antenna. I'd using Fromco regulators fed from two 4800ma LiIon batteries. The voltage levels are set at 5.8v. One is plugged into the battery port, the other is plugged into the gear channel. Regards, Steve K Last edited by swk550; 05-12-2007 at 08:43 PM. was able to get six flights on my 32% Carden Yak 54 with the new Spektrum AR9000 Rx and 9ch DSM2 module in my JR 10X radio.
The whole system is rock solid. Not a single glitch. What impressed me is that I did not have any trim changes-----------non what so ever. My response was only slightly faster that my PCM R2000 Rx. I did have noticable better (more precise) response when moving the sticks off of neutral. Attached are some pictures of the installation. The Rx was already bound to the module when I received it. I did install a second satellite Rx and rebound the system It took some 20 seconds for the AR9000 and 1st satellite RX to bind (solid red light) and another 10 seconds for the 2nd satellite Rx. I did a range test with the module button pushed in. I quit testing at around 60 paces. The plane flew absolutely perfect. I am very pleased. Installation tip: keep the servo leads bundled up and do not lay them over the antenna. I use a 6v 3250ma NiMh battery in the battery port and an additional 6v 1650ma in the gear port. After six flights (IMAC practice sessions around 12 minutes each, eogjt JR 8611a servos), the batteries still measured 6.18 and 6.08 volts respectively. Steve |
