Yes. When you loose your entire inventory of aircraft on one day (7 to be exact), It's time to take a break from the hobby to recouperate my losses.
I'll hopefully (if all goes to plan) be back in force by November, ready to prepare for the Nats. Until then, Safe flying and happy landings everyone! P.S. when you crash one model, stop, don't fly the rest hoping for a happy flight to ease the pain

Holy cow! And I thought I was having a bad year so far. Yikes! 7 damm! There has to be a common element for 7 all in one day. I crashed three this year, and all were for very different reasons. One was a midair, My 33%. That one hurt. Another was dumb thumb, and the third was a bungee malfunction. YA, we lose models in this hobby, but sometimes its really sucks! Ampeater, you definitly had a bad day. YA, take a break.

Righty Tighty then, guess it's time for the details.
First one was my new indoor ultralight depron foamy, dumb thumbed that into the ground doing a rolling vertical 8. Just a broken front end and motor mount. Won't take much to fix, but still a crash and it's unflyable as it is. Second one was my QQ Yak 54. Had been hovering just in front and around me for a couple of min trying to get used to the new big model down low. All of a sudden, without any prior warning AT ALL, the motor sagged and stopped (final guess was due to overheating) and the old god of gravity took over. It fell straight onto its wingtip and broke the end of the aileron and broke th internals of the fuse quite bad. Fully repairable, but don't have the heart or time for it atm. Third was my GWS Zero, which i was flying on my old Optic 6 set. just took off and all hell broke loose. The other guy on my frequency had just put the peg back and so i grabbed it to fly the Zero, but he headed off to the car with his trannie cuz he was heading home oblivious to the fact that it was still on. But didnt click to this till afterwards. Fuse in two pieces and a new motor installation required. Fourth wasn't a crash but stripped the gears on two servos in my new EF Extra and discharged the Lipo battery in it too low and stuffed that. So new servo gears and new $120NZD lipo battery required. Fifth wasn't me. My father was flying my GWS formosa and after a landing thought he'd launch it off again into the sun and utterly wrote that off!!!!!! Including concertinering ANOTHER $100NZD battery of mine. Sixth was my T-Rex Heli which i broke the new Carbon blades on and stripped the main gear and bent bits here and there by dumb thumbing again inverted hovering, well trying anyway And finnally i headed up the hill for some F3F slope racing. Had my shiny new Carbon Destiny with all the bling gear, and on my first turn had a mind block and i thought i was flying my old 2.5m Howler and banked and yanked and tip stalled her into an unrecoverable flat spin which ended in a rock. Wing and gear is ok, just alot of fuse repair. Well hows that for a BAD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (various expicits deleted!)And Moped, 1CAN, and Sarge will back me up in saying that taking a break for me is a rather big deal!! Oh well gives me time to get other models in the air! Like a new Matrix!

Oh did i mention the two Pattern ships i totaled at the very end of last year? One here: http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...sed-197-a.html
And then there was my brand new Matrix at the Nats ![]() :EDIT: Oh hahahaha I left out the funniest part!!!!!!!!!!! On the way back to the car with the remains of my Destiny i locked my keys in the car!!!!!!!! And proceeded with the help of some others to take 45min with two screwdrivers and a bit of fence wire (shhhh! =p) to unlock it!!!! A buggered door seal and dented here and there. Oh and there was getting run off the road into a power pole the week before..............

Do you believe in Karma?
That's really gotta suck mate, best of luck when you decide to get back into things. The time off will be good for you, you might re-discover the fun in it all after a little while. In the meantime spend some time with the OBW and knock back a few beers, Maybe get an RC car? Not much goes wrong with those (I just bought a TB-02 ready to drive for $180) Sarge out.
