Here's yet, another question about the process, as it pertains to unlimited. Looking at the cactus classic for example....knowing that Billy and Chip will more than likley be "Invitational", does that mean that Brian get's 1st place points, or 3rd place points ???

Bill,
Sorry for the delay I did not see your post. No, Brian will get 3rd place points for the Cactus Classic. Regards, Anna |

What about us guys up north we really don't get to fly untilthe end of may to the beginning of June why isn't it extended a little bit later than that so we can get some contests in.

Mike,
I wish we could..... We want to get the pilot field set and announced about two months in advance to allow everyone to make work, hotel, shipping and travel arrangements. That puts us at the end of August to the beginning of September. Then we need to back up about four weeks to run pre-registration and get all the potential pilot entries in and the data analysed to see who makes the field. That gets us to mid/end of July, with the deadline as July 31st. With the Shootout being held in late October this year, we have a couple more weekends of contests to be able to add to the mix; compared to the time line we had in 2005 when the selection committee started their work on July 10th. Regards, Anna Wood |

Hello Anna,
I was wondering if they have a list of pilots for the shootout if the roster was made today? kind of like a temporary list? I hope that makes sence. Im worried that I wont make it into the shootout even if I have 3 wins due to low pilot entry... Im not complaining, Just curious if there was such a list to see how close I would be to making it in. Thanks Anna and hope to see you at the shootout. |

You can click "Kevin's Corner" on the front page of FG's site (right side)
This lists the top pilots in every class. Its unofficial but very handy.

Hi John,
The TAS point standing also included Olympia Challenge contest that you went to last weekend. Keep in mind that Dean Bird is in Advanced Class regardless what place he is in since he took first in TAS05 in Intermediate. So technically, there are only 9 spots left in your class.

Even less for Unlimited.
Jeff Szeuber won. He gets to come back (Not sure if he gets the invitational nod or not) Kyle Woyshnis won Advanced last year and has since moved up to Unlim. Contest management has the right to pick up to two entries for each class. The way I see it, Unlim has only 6 open spots.

Hi Wayne,
Jeff Szuber Jr. will be flying Invitational this year. He has received an invitational nod from the TAS committee. :-)
