Gremlenx.... looks really good. Nice work. I have always liked the Godfrey airplanes... they fly extremely well.

Hey one quick word of wisdom... go buy an airplane cover before it sees sun, from plane wrappers or from Carden (that's were i got mine)... the black looks great until it hits the sun for too long, then it blisters forever. I've done dark blue and other dark colors with great sucess, but the black just gets too hot.

Looks great, I can't wait to get the flight report!

Ok... B and E Graphics really put together a nice package for me and had them cut in a very short time. Thanks to those guys for helping me get it done.

Does anybody know how to get the bubbles out of the covering after the vinyl is applied? I tightened everything up, then applied the decals. The covering is tight now, but what happens after time? It's gonna happen. Thanks, Keith

With Monokote, if you really get it down good and stuck, it is less likely than other coverings to loosen up over time. You have to make sure that you used enough heat when you applied the covering to seal the adhesive into the wood though. It sounds like you did that based on your description but if there is any doubt, go back over everything with the iron (sock on of course).

If you do get a loose spot under a graphic, it is difficult to get enough heat to seal it back down without damaging the vinyl. The best I've been able to do is use a lower heat setting and work the area slowly. When I've done this, it did dull the surface of the vinyl but not so bad that it was noticeable from a couple feet away. To me, this looked better than the wrinkles which I could see from 10 feet away.

The best solution is to really get that covering good and stuck so that you don't have to get wrinkles out later.

Lookin' sweet Keith. Great job! Try a heat gun then use a cotton glove to push the covering down with the other hand while it's still hot.
I know this is late but if you apply Balsa-rite or Sig Stiks-it (thinned out) to the balsa before you put your covering on it really holds it to the wood.

When we did the dalton in monokote it took for ever to get bubbles and wrinkles out. There still there. My granddad would have the plane wrinkle free and he would go in grab something to eat and come back 30 min later and there are wrinkles again!!!

Bubbles now if it is what I am thinking you can always take a SHARP t-pin or needle and barley poke at the bubble to just pop it then heat the area. That is how we get the bubbles out of ours.
