Guys,

This guy at my local field is selling a Hanger 9 330L fully loaded (DA 100) minus radio for $1800. This will be my first scale plane. Is this a good model for 3d and Precison flying?

It will be great as long as you keep the weight to a minimum.23-24 lbs
An Extra still is the best looking plane and the fly great.
GOOD LUCK & ENJOY

Harv, my son and myself are good friends with Mike McConville, more like family now with him then just good friends, my son Brendan which is 15 years old, has had the pleassure and honor of being able to fly Mikes new H9 35% Extra 260 prototype in the sportsman class at 2 local IMAC contests, and also the Scale Aerobatic Nationals ( NATS ), where he has finished in 1st place with it all 3 times he has competed with it, the first contest with only 3 practice flights on it. Brendan is just blowed away with this plane, he also has a H9 33% Extra 330, he says that there is NO comparison at all between these two planes. He will be flying it in the Tucson Shootout this year and will be competing with it again in the Intermediate class next year in IMAC. Just as some of the others have said, there is a lot that is done already to this plane when it comes out of the box, and the rudder does come off to shorten it up for transporting it if that is an issue. Its a sweet plane ! Some of the guys here have seen it fly, and some have gotten to fly it. Wayne Geffon flew it and liked it, he has one on order, and Mark Leseberg is going to be getting one as he thinks its an awsome airplane.

So its been proven to be competition worthy before ever coming to market, Brendan really loves it. I dont think that anyone will be disapointed with it, its a beautiful airplane.

Actually I have flown it, Wayne Geffon has flown it, Brendan Jones has flown it, along with Mike McConville. Brendan uses it for IMAC, and he has been blowing everyone away in the North Central region for Sportsman. The plane flies IMAC extremely well, and also 3D very well. It doesnt have the authority in 3D as some planes do, but still has plenty to do any figure you can think of. You cant go wrong with it!

LOL Seth, its ok buddy, and I appoligize, I forgot that you had flown it....it was really late when i was writting this. As to the 3D part of it, I would venture to say that it would be a different animal with the CG moved backed.

saw the prototype Hanger 9 Sukhoi 26 with a DA85 at the NC Regional IMAC Championships this weekend. McConnville flew it in freestyle saturday night and Brendan flew it in Sportsman. Very cool airplane and flew very well.

He also said that he used the cowl off of the old su-31... so when you get a chance please put the pick up....Do you know if anyone got a video of the noon demo? Might have to sell my DA100 and buy an 85 for this plane.... I love sukhois and am glad to see a few of them return...

That looks like the Wildhare 35% Sukhoi in the matador scheme.
