I recieved the 2 new recievers in today.
I have them both installed, had to make new mounts and take other mounts out. I put velcro on the rx's and put 1/2" white foam under everything that had the 1" yellow foam |

under.
I used 1 zip tie for each rx pack and two velcro on each tomorrow I am going to put white 1/2"foam under the ignition unit. Then do another set of range tests w/ engine off and on,hopefully with pcm i can fly this puppy to see what she looks like in the air, and act. This is my first single canopy plane I've owned. |

Alrighty folks!!!
I ran the tests over and I think we have a potential flier on my hands. My 9 year old son gave his old "POP" a hand a minute ago, he got to be the one holding on to the radio and do the walking I got to hold the plane and watch....he walked just about 160' away and the engine did not act wierd.nor did the ailerons act like they were on acid,She idled smooth whiile he walked away from the plane,I had him run up the throttle slow |

I am going to teach him what slow means if I can get him to slow down that long!ol.
but I can say he caught himself at half throttle and started moving it up slower, Thats-my-boy.Everything checks out just like it should.now all I have to do is have DA2000 test fly the thing, not really needed, but I just want someone that knows more than me saying its a goodn Last edited by eagle1; 06-01-2007 at 02:38 PM. Well.....took it out again today and had some troubling issues with that blarden engine running.......with the antenna on the tx is completely colapsed,I can walk at least 250 to 300 ft...no probs....75 ft. with engine running????????..
just about the time we figured that we had it licked, killed the engine;had a 3/8 tank left;mixed up some new gas and the wind tries to take both my planes away.... |

so it did not fly again!!!...got it home took out the reg and battery for ign.,put a met hyd pack like the on in the extra 330L, decided to check engine mount bolts, found one of them about 3/4 of a round off being tight!,gave the others a half a turn.
I will try this set up and if this don't work I am going back to one rx and an i4c isolator, works great in the 330l |

Thanks for the comp.
I am really looking forward to flying this bird,I believe that I will.......after Congress allows this plane to Stop IT'S GLITCHEN. Some guys say they've had some bad luck with the regulators, this is the first time I have used this set up.As far as engine performance, when DA was running up the throttle,he looked at me with a a suprised but not suprised look...."Man"... kinda makes you feel like Th' Tool Man Taylor...AARRAARRAARRAARR More power.. |

Hey....................................I was just reading on someone elses glitch problem and came across a bit of info....it said not to use metal gaskets on the headers...........When I first built my GreatPlanes 1/3 Scale Extra330L I originally had a Fuji Bt86Twin for the power plant...found that I needed more power for hover not for flying,It came with heat shields made out of gasket material kinda like I header gasket for auto exhausts....ssssoooo I made a couple of header gaskets out of that material.....hey it couldn't hurt anything right?? so now that I have the cowling off the plane I will replace these gaskets with the required gaskets and see if this hellps the problem!!! whowouldathunkit...thanks for all the posts around this website I just might lurn sompin..lol

you know I was just sitting herer thinking about metal to metal interferencea a far as the exhaust goes.
Now,isn't there a metal bolt going from the head to the headers, and it connects the headers to the cans? is this not a metal to metal contact? if you would send an electrical signal from the heads it would be hot until you reach the cans if they are not touching right? just some food for thought!!! whats your thoughts??? |

even though you have a gasket in between the head and the headers doesn't the bolt play a part?in my line of work which I wire things all the time, unless you have plastic bolts you still have a metal to metal contact even though you have a paper gasket in between the heads and headers?
when you tighten a bolt to specs, that bolt and other components become one giant piece of metal...right???? or is this a wrong way to think?? |
