i am installing DA50 with a standard muffler
one hitec 5955 on rudder and 4 hitec 5945 on elevator and ailerons, one each and one hi speed digital servo on the throttle i am also going to change the firewall so that a DA 50 fits on it, the firewall which came fixed with ARF looked a little fragile i have also got four 2.25' standoffs specially made as the ones i had were very long.

The engine is not running since the crash, would it be because of the crash??? I changed the spark plug, made sure it was tight and I checked the ignition batteries which were full. I don't see any damage from the crash but I have changed the slimline mufflers to stock DA mufflers to make the aircraft light as possible,
Any suggestions? Abdullah

Abdullah.
Crash might have caused your engine problem. Here is a check list that might help you diagnose your problem. - Do you hear any weird noises when you flip the prop? - does the engine have enough compression when it's being flipped. - Is your chock closing all the way when you are trying to start her up? - do you see fuel running into the carb when you flip the prop. - finally, if all of the above check O.K, then try to borrow an ignition unit (DA 50 that is) from one of the guys at the field or maybe saeed, and see if that does it. Good luck. Ahmed |

What all pics do you need....
i will post them for you i have modified the engine box quite a lot to acomodate the DA-50 I have flown it... it is pretty good only the scheme on top and bottom is slightly confusing it is great to fly... over powered for DA-50

Need pictures of fuel tank position, ignition battery placement and reciver and battery placement. Its easier to look at pictures as a refrence to get an idea of how things should be positioned in the airframe. Currently connecting the fuel system and ignition system but would like some pictures of an already setup planes insides. Very hard to find any for this plane.

My son and i have finally got this plane running engine runs great i think. Has lots of power. I mounted everything securely i think. Have to post some pics of course. the fuel tank still is a little baffling in how the fuel lines should be. I mean there are three lines on it. One for the pick up of course and two vent lines i guess. I guess i could cap one of them off, really only need one vent line for the tank i would think.
Only problem we had with it was the radio went all haywire on us after starting it there was no control over the throttle or servos at all, they pretty much did whatever they wanted to. But were fine before the engine was started. So i'm thinking i will have to get another type of Spark plug. Resistor type plug i'm pretty certain the one in it is not. And hopefully that will eliminate that problem .Still would really like to see some pics of other peoples aircraft like this one. |
