I centered my motor and went with the original fire wall, with some added 1/4" ply. I am going to add some more right thrust, to help out on the up line.

I have a CRRC-Pro GF50 in my 2M Katana. Gets flogged and never had to touch it once after it was set up.
A mate has a 3MM 53 in the same Aircraft. The power diffrence is noticalble, but the GF50 does an excellent job.

Cheers

Make sure the firewall is really sturdy I used the 1/4 ply and aluminum angle to strengthen the fire wall and realized last night that one side was broke loose...never have a rough landing yet (knock on wood).

Just got in from my girlfriend holding my plane when we got done looked like she been ridding a bike all weekend . We got the high speed set and the low speed set. I have half a gallon of fuel run through the engine I am using synthetic sthel 32 to 1. It's going to take a while to break in. I am running a zinger 22x8 prop getting a idle of 980 to 1200. The shaking came out for the most part due to the inproper air mix. I was getting a hi speed of a 7400 which I will set my radio at 7000. I dont think i will need the whole 55 cc to flip this bird around. It's all my girlfriends got to hold this thing at 7300.

That is awesome now the fun starts! The 50cc on mine is just wonderfully crazy and fun to fly, it is the most over powered plane I have ever put togeather.
good luck

I installed a rexcel ignition on my china hp50cc motor ........WOW it runs superb and start super easy, I almost fell over when it started on the 3rd flip. It also idles better and seems to have a better top end. ( i didnt tach to busy flying) So I guess I would definitely go with the REXCEL Ignitions! The best shop is south east RC. The guy is really helpful and has some good prices on items. The ignition was I think 55.00 delivered to the door.
If anyone is interested in a ARC RC LEAGUE Extra 330L plane let me know I have another one that I took all the covering off and covered the fuse white, everything else is bare bones, bought a new cowel. It needs a canopy and covered as well as installing the hinges etc.

Here is a video of the HP 50cc on my 330L.

It is the first start up with a extension on the throttle arm so I had to get the idle adjusted. The humidity was about 90% I think it might tach a bit better when the RH goes down. I have always found that when it is humid out the gassers dont perform due to the extra mst in the air. Call me crazy This is the first gallon of 50:1 Klotz oil so I think it might get a little better on the top end.

I maiden mine...got about a gallon of gas through it. I reccomend this to anyone who wants to fly 25-27% planes. I've got a dle 55 motor. Will not trade it for any other 55 motor on the market. Two flips after choke has not failed me flying yet. Can get m delivered from Hong Kong for $320. Running a 22 8 Zinger prop. Pulls out with all the power a person would ever want. Carrying 2 4200 milliamp nickel hydrate battery packs. Centered next to the aluminum tube ont he back side. Centers the CG on this plane excellent with the dle 55 motor on it. Hangs on the prop at quarter throttle 40 seconds after hovering tork roll begins. Slowly speeds up ...can't ask for a better plane for the money. About ready to say bye bye to all nitro's.
