I had the 50 size and if the 30 is anything like that the plane almost builds itself lol. The engineering is so well thought out after you start building it you think,"why hasn't any other manufacture thought of this before?" It's really a joy to build and you should have it ready for the electronics in a few hours.

Nice choice!!!!!!!! I have the Katana 30E and the Sukhoi. I will soon have the Katana 50. Definetly the best flying "woodies" in my hanger. Oh, and before you perverts jump in there, "woodie" is a term I use for small electric birds, similar to "foamy!"

I wouldn't have taken it any other way John. I think the 50 looks the way to go. I have an EF Extra and I'm still in love with that thing. It gives ya a woodie to fly it. Thus something bigger would be a good move I think.
It looks like batteries are getting better and better each week and they don't really break the bank if you look after them. Some cool deals due out soon on warranty and even crash insurance. |

My Dad maidened his Katana 50 today and was really impressed. He only got 1 quick flight before the thunderstorms rolled in but was really impressed. He said it flew as smoothly as his big gassers.
One flight and he's decided it's just going to have to live in the van for those "sneak out of work for an hour" days. Mike |

Noticed I said "HAD the 50 size". On about the 5th flight I was adjusting the aileron high rate and after I finished that, I wiggled the sticks to make sure everything was working. Yep, all surfaces went in the correct direction, OK, time to fly! Advanced the throttle and she lifted off in a nice shallow climb out, well, at least until it got about 300 ft. from me. It was then when she went into a nice shallow dive with no control. OH S**T MY ANTENNA!!! Too late.... splat. Jeez am I an idiot. I'm a creature of habit and I have a routine when I pick up my transmitter, I pick it up by the antenna top so it extends with the weight of the box. This time I left the antenna collapsed while adjusting the aileron rate and forgot to extend it. But let me tell you those first 4 flights were great. One or two clicks of trim one the maiden and that was it. I set the CG to the back of the recommended range and it was perfect; just a slight pressure of down stick to hold level inverted. On KE there was a little coupling to the gear but that's probably because of the rearward CG and there was no roll coupling at all. It was a really sweet flying airplane and for sure I'll be getting another one.

HeyDick,
I don't have any arguments with your self flagellation comments. I have done it and saved the day with a frantic yank on the antenna. Sorry too hear about it mate. I wont post it on the front page I promise you. MuuuHaaaHaaaaa |

I tried to pull the antenna out but because of the low altitude there wasn't enough time.

rebatos, sorry to hear that.. i didn't build it yet.. i'll check it out...
anyway guys!! i need your help! my Katana (after i taked it out of the box) i saw it's crashed.. mabe on shop or on shipping.. anyway, the firewall has small hit.. but it's need to be glue again! anyway, as i can see it's suppose to have some right or left angle??? or it's suppose to be 90-Degrees from the body? (i'm not talking about the Firewall that you suppose to glue!! i'm talking about the Front Box that build from factory.. as you take it out from the nylons...) Thanks guys... (if anyone have "close up" pics, i'll be thankfull!)
