Well you know, we kinda had tis bad day from early on sunday morning. But we were brave and hopeful that it would warm up und that the wind would die down. So we loaded the trailer and dragged our asses to the field. After the braai was aborted a friend called and he brought some Wimpy grub with. By the time we were done the weather was almost flyable. This being Africa and all, the land of lions, etc, we decided that it was time for some fun: Peet whipped oout the camera and somehow he got this idea that anothwer friend should hold my christen eagle and jump up and down. After he let it go unexpectedly and some close calls ( for the plane) we came up with a "bigger" idea. Why not the 35% Extra? We planned everything and had some rehearsals with the engine off. Then we fired her up and the fun began. With half throttle the plne wants to nose over. Now explane to a Mode 1 pilot to select medium rates and pull full up elevator on a mode 2 radio. That got sorted and by now my arms were really tired. 3/4 throttle helped a bit and I got jumping higher and higher. then came facial expressions and we got those photies. Being brave by now we hijacked a fellow modelers' 2X2 pattern plane and promosed him some great pictures of his plane. This was the first time I flew a pattern plane and was surprised of how stable they are. A few KE passes close to the deck got his attention ( and mine "brave remember")
By dusk we packed up and were still laughing our a$$es off. The day turned out to be one of the best this year.
Sounds like an joll and a half well done on that photo you deserve to win hands down..

Most people seem to use a 16 inch prop on the 125, probably cause it spins up nice and quick. Some use a 17*4W but that is with 30% heli fuel. I may try a 17 once the motor is run in.
I am leaning towards the 16*4 because the funtana doesnt like too much speed, wings could fold

Trev, have you flown the extra yet?

No D I only fitted the motor a night ago and it needed some weight up front so I decided to put my 2nd rx's battery on the fire wall ( the 1st reciever's bat is a lipo in the fuz so it weighs nothing ) plus I put two ing batteries on the fire wall and y leaded them into the ing with all theese bats on the fire wall the ballance is almost there maybe I need to put 90g of lead there as well. But cuase I redid the rx and ing wiring I decided to redo the whole plane's installation so that its the best and neatest. Thats done now I am redoing my elv and ail pushrods caues I changed the horns to get more throw. I will be finished with all the new stuff tomorrow and then Im still waiting for the MVVS Can to fit it. But all of that and I think the weather will be pritty bum this wkn so im aiming for next weekend.

Flew in there many years ago with Chris Sweatman(RC World) in a Grob Motor Glider, on the way to Gariep Dam for a jet fly in. think it was about 1993, or 94.
Have good facilities and shouldnt be too busy any time of the year, weather generally good, just sceaming for a 3d "Bosberaad"
