Peter is not joking about the size of the catalogue! Graupner have some great products, I was drooling over their stuff during my lunch break.

How about a biplane with a 1.4 metre wingspan that weighs 1.5kgs all up! Looks like it was made from balsa and carbon then sheeted with depron. It must really float!

Nope. If preston gets it before lunchtime I will fetch it during my lunch break otherwise saturday morning. I ordered the silver version because I found that the paint on my 91 golden knight started to come off after a while. Pity cause i like the look of the black and gold version.

Guys here are some pics of my new updated instalation on the new Extra

Im running two PCM synthesized recievers on powered by the new MCO TEC power interface using a 1500mah two cell lithium pack and the other rx is powered by a 6V 1500mah Nicad pack. The right side of the plane incl the rudder and throttle is controlled by the reciever on the right and the rx on the left controls the left side of the plane and the choke so that in the event of a reciever failure I can still kill the motor with which ever rx still functions and then manouver the plane using only one side.

The switch we'v been chatting about is a MCO TECH unit which peter from Cerebus RC gave me to test. Its a single switch which is capable of running to batteries through it ( It actually has two input plugs ) so it can handle high amp draws. It feeds one rx but the really cool thing about it is that it draws equal current from both batteries during flight . OK thats the switch part
It also features a regulator system ( with a heat sink ) which uses a 2 cell lipo battery and drops the current down to 5.5v or 5v so its ignition safe aswell with no current spikes. It uses a very cool new magnetic swicthing system this has a tagg with a earth magnet in it and all you do is run the tagg over the ON part af the switch and whalla its on. To switch the unit OFF you just run it over the OFF part and its OFF. Where is technology going?????
The system also has a LED which is vissable through a 6mm hole that one has to make in the fuzz, the LED flashes when the power is on so if you think you switched your plane off but didn't then this little baby will let you know.
Peter also has the switch only unit which is the magnetic switch only and doesn't have the regulator system but I think it also has the LED. Another Great part about this system is it only weighs 38grams ( not a type O )

You can contact Peter diretcly his username is saflyer on FG and he will give you prices ect. This is a really cool item that will repalce the standard rx switch.
The quality is ablosutly outstanding its made in Germany.... I give it a out of 10.
I will post pics of the unit asap for all those interested....

Trev

Here are those pics guys you should be able to see the heat sink in the first pic
its on the back of the unit. the last pic is actually how you switch the unit on or off

Wats sup guys, bout time I found a thread like this.Had a pretty bad week after the crash Saturday at Zeekoevlei.
Finaly decided last night to take the Saito82 apart to check for damages.Looks ok,no bent shafts but going to need a new valve tappet cover as well as HSN assembly.Plane(yellow edge 540) is pretty FFFD up.Probably repairable with some patience but not any time soon.

Hey warren, you found us
Try fix the edge if you can, glad the saito isnt too badly damaged.

Btw, I just picked my saito125 this morning!

Trev, the extra is looking good. I like the stand offs, nice and easy to adjust the motors position and thrustline.

But when you are confident enough to slow a plane down well you can land it almost anywhere. TMFC is great for jets !!!!!!!!!!
I used to fly my twin D/F powered Cessna Citation there and off the short side aswell no problem. We flew Mikes Bobcat there last weekend and it went great.

Trev

cool - so when do we see your fly?
