Was a tight fit Arno, only way to get it all in was to do the engine mount and motor together. No way of installing the engine mount and then the motor. Second one should be a bit easier.

I recently got a second hand pilot rc yak 54 50cc airframe.did alot of work to it as the firewall basically fell apart.fitted a jc 53 with cannister, changed one or two servos etc.
I must admit i was pleasantly surprised by the performance and stability of the plane .
This is the first time ive ever gone all out to set a plane like this up for 3D.
I have even made a set of SFG for the wing tip and believe me they make a difference.
Im running a 23x8 mentz prop but struggling with torque.i have as much right aileron as possible and even with pulsing the throttle im struggling to counteract the torque in a hover.
Any suggestions?

Yes i have two suggestions. Rael has the same plane but with a TMM 53, bit more power available.
Change your prop to a 22-3Db xovr or something similar and flatten your throttle curve at mid stick or where the plane hovers or change your throttle linkage to allow less movement with stick input. That should to the trick. Lastly check your engine thrust on the uplines and adjust accordingly. We have never had to do that but maybe after you rebuild the firewall something is out of wack....If you go back a few pages I posted some videos of the plane in action, she does hover without torque rolling. sorry also something that might be having an effect is that canister, might have to find that sweet spot , thats were the throttle curve will help. Nice plane

aubrey
what gary says makes sense. The smaller diameter prop will help with less torque, i also think the JC is better suited to 22inch props. the more you pulse the throttle the greater the torque effect will be and the harder to stop it too. try to keep a constant throttle setting in the hover. I run an MT70 with 23x8 JXF - AWESOME! Pity we may not see them again, unless the factory sorts themselves out.

thanks guys.Had same thoughts regarding 22 inch prop .been playing around with throttle curve and that seems fine now just that damm torque cause cant always get her low down in hover as blipping throttle to counter torque causes climb.I must say that since i put the sfg on it seems extremely stable in a hover using very little rudder inputs.

I think he did. He mentioned to me that it was right in the middle of rc world and close to the dood that builds the Wilga's.
Anyway Raels ticket and accommodation organized. Place sleeps 4, so if you change your mind
Planes are ready, he just has to load and go. Busy working on the 260, going to see if that engine will run. Don't forget to send me the photos of the EDGE.... Did you ask him to put some other stickers on as mentioned in my sms?

You think too much, change the prop and you will be surprised. I think a B on that prop i mention is a 10" pitch. The lighter the plane the lower the wing loading the better the 3D the less the rpm the less torque. EG spinner and spats and any other **** you have inside My son has taught me a lot he talks i work the bugger. Anyway its what I enjoy
