Default GP 33% Extra 330L Cowl mounting ideas

Hey Fellas;
My Dad is building me this airplane. He built my sister a waterbed back when we were kids but never did anything for me. So now he is building this bird and it is going very well. Looking ahead, we don't like the idea of 3 dozen screws to get the cowl off. Does anyone have any alternate ideas. I have heard of cowl rings but don't quite understand that concept. Can someone enlighten me? Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Charlie

Maybe this will help....

You may be able to epoxy four hardwood blocks to the edge of the firewall: two on each side of the firewall as close to the edge as posssible. Then put the cowl in place and drill through the cowl and hardwood blocks at the same time. Put small blind nuts on the backside (or inside if you will) of the wood blocks and Voila!!!

Do some measuring and/or marking before you drill so you dont miss the blocks.

Hope this helps. If I am not really clear here let me know.
