Default Futaba 6EXA trim memory problem

Guys I need some help here.

I have a friend with a 6EXA (not the super) and it looses the trim memory every time you turn the radio off. Its digital trim of course but what could it be thats easy to fix.

I thought of the backup battery but if it was the issue you would loose the model memory as well.

Sending it back is not a real option as the freight costs as much as a new radio from way down under. I have good access to some techy guys if someone can point me at something simple to attack.

What do you mean by "trim memory"? If you turn off the transmitter, the positions of the controls should not change. The trims will remain where they were.

The Trim Memory function of the transmitter is something you must deliberately input for each model. You store the trim settings so that you can return the trim levers to their neutral positions. If you don't deliberately set the trim memories, then the trims will not set themselves when you go from one model to another.

Bill.

Sorry for not being a bit more clear on this.

You take off, the model needs three clicks of aileron to the right and two up on the elevator. You trim it out in flight, and all is perfect.

Land it, turn off the Tx re power it and fly again. three clicks of aileron and two of elevator again.

Normally the trims stay where you put them last flight, correct??
