Default IMAC and spin question

Hi guys... I am trying to help a friend get into pattern and IMAC. I am not really into it, but he really is and he has joined IMAC. My question is... lets just say he is going to practice spins. How long do you allow to slow the plane enough to spin? I assume there is a point deduction for too much time to spin. He has a few pattern planes and an 85" QQ Yak to practice with. The pattern planes seem to take a while to spin even at lower speeds. Lets say he is on a 45 upline and level off, and spin... it looks more like a 45 upline, table top, then spin... thanks. Keith

You fly till the plane stalls......if that takes the whole imaginary, but doesn't exist anymore, but we still get scored on use of, box then so be it.

It will change on idle settings, wind direction, type of plane, how heavy the air is that day etc.........Just tell him to feed in a little elevator...once he gets to full up elevator (without climbing but the nose can be high).....it should stall and drop.

But whatever we do lets not start another.....this is how you spin thread

he should fly it until the nose drops with up elevator applied. Practice will teach him throttle settings and where to slow down to make it present correctly.

SPIN NATZI's please stay off this thread you know who you are

If you are helping (which is AWESOME!!) then double check the rules or have him read the rules........ tons of info in there
I'm Amazed at how many people come out and fly that have never read the rules.
While it can be a dry read it is very important to do

There is no such judging criteria as "how long it takes" to perform any maneouver.

As Curtis says... Go to www.mini-iac.com go to the rules section and click the link to the Judgng and Rules Guides.

Download it, print it, study it!!

Ah Kent that is for Precission Aerobatics, not IMAC. Our Classes are Basic, Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced and Unlimites not Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced and Masters like the document your link takes us to.

Bob I noticed the link to the Flying and Judging Guide is gone, or I can't find it, can you provide us a link?
