Hi All, please advice what kind of servos and power supply set up for radio and inigtion for DL-50. Here is what I already have for sure but waiting suggestion about servo type/model and battery for receiver. The reason I asked since I do not have experience for servo/radio set up for many servos. This airplane requires total 4 servo for aielron, 2 for elevator, 1 for rudder and 1 for throttle, for choke I will use manual wire connection and on/off by manual.
Worldmodels ULTIMATE 50cc Gas Engine DL-50 with stock muffer Should I use digital servo, what brand and type? Should be only metal gear servo for this airplane or can be plastic gear? Should I use power expansion board? or I use MSA-10 for 4 aielron set up. What type of battery would it be good and reliable for this set up? Normally I used HITEC 5985MG with Extra 330L Wildhare set up and only 2 servo for aielron. No experience for many servos set up... Thanks for help. |

I used Hitec 5645 for the tail servos and 5955 on the rudder and 5625 on the wings.I Y the upper and lower wing together so my flap would still work.On the throttle servo I used a 5625 karbonite gear hitec servo.I used this set up on two worlds ultimate biplanes and had no problems.Sorry no pic I was hoving and torqing on the deck when my wife showed up and I turned around to wave, not a good Idea.

Thank you for Snap information. May I get clarification on your Wings set up.
Y connection for upper wing to first channel. and Y connection for lower wing to the second channel. Is this correct?. What is your battery supply used and how many channels receiver you are using. Thanks. Your info is useful to me to get a good combination at optimum cost. I do 3D flying. So all those gears are MG, right? |

Hi
I have a WM27% Ultimte with a ZDZ60, and I have Hitec 645Mgs on the wings, 5945s on the Elevator and a 5955TG on the rudder. I have the Right wing Y on one channel and the left Y on the other aileron channel. I also have a 225Mg on throttle and choke. I use 2 x 2400mah 6v Nimhs for the rx and a 4v for the ignition. I would stick with metal gears for the servos, they stand up to the vibration better. There was a very good build thread here on FGs from Rusty Tumbles http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...ipe-build.html Hope this helps. |

Hi Snap,
Your diagram is clear to me. In general, you connect two servos for one channel. This is what I am thinking so far for lower set up cost and without powerbox. My radio was FUTABA 14MZ and have varieties of set up I want to be. Thanks again for your greatful. |

Hi Drewbags,
I am thinking for HITEC 645MG as well since it was analog metal gear and cheaper than 5985MG. But speed response at 6 volts was 0.20 sec.My friends here who used to have 645MG saying that this servo sometimes it won't work (no control response.) Is this true for you? If not, I am thinking 645MG for wings set up. And use similar set up you have. Sure I will go to METAL GEAR ONLY but thinking whether it is necessary to be digital type or not ($$$ concerns) For bettery supply, I plan to use LION 5200 mAH and voltage regulator 6 volts from FROMECO. Thanks for useful information and I will go to make it. |

Here's a link to the build thread I did on my Ulti. Setup was with a DA50 though.

Hi Rusty, Thanks for your link. I just finished all readins for 35 pages of threads and your build up model is great and nice. By the way, my landing gear is the same as the guy in thread that have the slop to forward to cowling. I must redrill the aluminum landing gear to get the correct scale look.
I used to be in Sydney for 10 times and it was nice country. Thanks for your inputs and learning. |

I have had no problems with my 645s yet, but there is no doubt that the 59XX or 985s are better servos as they are coreless. Comes down to what you can afford.
