I don't think it's available yet. It looks very interesting! I'm going to pick one up for my Saito 1.80 4C I have laying around.

Why do they bundle it with a 2 stroke.
If they offered it bundled with a nice 4 stroke they would sell a heap. Or even the MVVS 45, or ??? Man... S

I was amazed at the quality and lightness of the sister plane cap 232 27%. Mine is currently at 13.25 but soon it will be under 12.xxlb with DA50. Needless to say the vertical is rocketlike. No bad snap tendensies of cap on this one. It has most amazing upright flat spin. It spins around canopy instead of near wing tip on flat spin. As you modulate the power up and flatten the wing with right aile, it becomes a pancake spinning down dead flat. I will experiment more but if I can get it to slowdown enough, even flat spin landing maybe possible with this one. 45deg rolling harrier is possible with this one.
To make it even lighter at 12.25lb or so, I would go with new zdz40RE. It might be a good engine for GP yak too. |

Picking up one tomorrow from the LHS as a kick around 3D plane....
somethig i can just throw in the back of my truck instead of having to pull the trailer all the time to fill my flight jones. I have a Brison 2.4 sitting around, so i think that should be a great match... as long as i can keep it light. We'll know more tomorrow....

use fg spinner from espritmodel.com to save some weight for dirt cheap price. go 3cell lipo on both ignition 640mah and receiver 910mah or 1250mah. pickup 2amp 6v switching regulator (0.3oz) from medusaproducts.com and 3.5amp 6v switching regulator for receiver. Your entire power setup including regulator will weigh around 5-6oz total and get 5-6flights. what is the difference between linear regulator and switching regulator? linear regulator will burn excess voltage ( 7.4v down to 6v would mean 1.4v excess ) into heat and lost. switching regulator works like a transformer and convert 93-95% of battery into useful energy without loss. Typically you can use upto 35v as input voltage. Try that on linear regulator. For example, if you want 3cell 12.6v 640mah into 6v, it would be like having 6v nicad at 1280mah as the excess is turned into useful energy. If you use linear regulator, 7.4v 2000mah is like using 6v 2000mah battery. If you need more detailed info just ask. You will easily save 3/4lb between above 2 things alone without going to extremes. |

That's an interesting concept...something worth trying on a cheaper plane.

I just came back from WRAM show. ZDZ40RE FAI version is not out yet. The 40re they have now weighs same as se version. fai version will cost more too.
Futaba t12zap was pretty good. According to GP, they will not sell the tx alone. GP Yak looked small and short. |

It looks like I will be getting a GP YAK for the Model Airplane News product review. I'm torn on which engine to use. Frank Noll said he flew the test model with a DA 50!! Way too much power but fun! He said he intentionally tried to break it and coulden't! He said it flew well and stood up to some severe abuse.

Dude.. do a real world review, a low budget ride.
Like a motor thats cheap but works well, servos that work but don't break the bank, and inexpensive but functional hardware! That would be the dogs nuts!!! And very informative!

I always tell the absolute truth when reviewing. It never pays long term to be a suck up, yes sir man! I have to use what the Manufactuer gives me as far as servos and will probably have to pay a portion of the engine cost.
