I am considering the same combo (DA-100 on CF pipes) as you for this plane. There is not a lot of photos to estimate the room to slide 2 CF pipes into the fuse. Have you contacted Mike MC to confirm that? Will the pipe slide under the wing tube? Should we make a new rudder servo plate?
In the meantime i have contacted Ed Skorepa and his pipes look very impressive

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

for your application, the header length needs to be 11-12" (the first baffle is set at 18.5" from inlet). You'll be seeing 7200 rpm with Mejzlik 27x10 and around 7000 with PT 27x10 (Mejzlik 26x10 on 9" header - 7600). The exhaust will be very quiet (almost undetectable). All what you'll hear is the noise coming from carburetor, prop and airframe rattling.

Regards,
Ed Skorepa/EScomposites
First off, thank you for posting that information! I do wonder why a Mejzlik 28X 10 would not be a better choice, other than prop noise? My experience with it is that it turns within 100-200RPM of the 27"...
Also, based on pics oat Horizonhobby.com, the cannisters already end up underneath the wing tube, and the cannister tunnel is already installed. All we have to be concerned with is the diameter of the pipes. They are smaller than the cans, so that should be easily retrofitted. I don't see the rudder servo in the pic, but I am sure they considered that people would want to mount pipes in it and placed the servo accordingly. The wingtube is underneath the tank...

it was actually posted 2 days ago! Is it just me, or does the manual seem rushed? I am still trying to figure out where they want you to put those 36" extensions... I would assume the outboard aileron servos, but it says to use 24" there...
Not that I can't figure it out, but I am sure I will be asked to compare this plane to my Aeroworks 35% 260, and I can tell you right now that the Aeroworks manual blows this one out of the water - by a LONGSHOT.
I have everything for this plane now, except for extensions, and obviously the plane which, by the way, has been delayed a few weeks. I was expecting that, though; seems to happen with all new release ARF's.
I also ordered the EScomposite pipes - getting a little excited!

2 7/8 standoffs for a 100cc engine? wow I never expected that from H9, wonder how much vibration the DA will have?

Sounds perfect for a 3w 106, since it's longer than the DA.

To all who have seen it fly at the Nall:
Does it look like a good 3D airframe?
What engine was in it for the demo?

The advertised weight on the Hangar 9 seems about a pound or so heavier than the SD..........

It sure is a good looking airplane.

Jim
I have seen, touched it and watched Mike McC. fly it at the NATS (Well Brenden Jones was flying one too AND with the X9303 at that!! There were a couple of AW Extra 260s there side by side with which to comapre the H9 Extra 260; the H9 260 was a bit "fatter" and a bit longer that the AW 260. I think it also has a few more square inches of wing area. The color is, I think, cub yellow, which makes for good visibility to see it.

Mike's had an anodized bronze truturn spinner and Brenden's had a blue spinner. They both looked cool.

It also probably accepts the Evolution 116. Not sure how long it is but I bet that the firewall location was decided based on the possible engines that people would put on it.

The DA-100 standoff seems to be included with the kit and you can dowload the manual here:

I love the scheme on this one. Looks like it will be a good excuse to move up to 35% from the 50cc birds I have now.

Hey Bobby, cant quite say that I remember you, talked to so many people at the NATS....were you the one who used my cell phone to talk to Mike ? Anywho, yes, it is Cub Yellow, here are the colors...

White (HANU870), Cub Yellow (HANU884), True Red (HANU866) & Pearl Purple (HANU847)

As to the 260 that Brendan was flying at the NATS, it has a DA 100 with headers and MTW 75 cans, 7 8711's on the control surfaces, only one servo on the rudder, I cant recall what servo is on the throttle. Weight was 28.9 pounds with empty fuel tank.

Brendan really loves it, he has flown it in two contests thus far, Hamilton IMAC and the NATS and won both contests with it. Its a great IMAC plane for anyone looking at getting a 35%er to compete with. Here is the video of the freestyle from the NATS with the 260, Brendan is still working on his freestyle skills... http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...hp?photo=30294
