My personal experience from flying the plane was fantastic! It is very, VERY, 3D capable and can fly a strait line better than i can.

My Dad and I drove to Mikes to fly it before a contest and got three flights in before the Hamilton Hawks IMAC Challenge contest the next day. When i first got my hands on it, there was an immediate connection with me and the plane. It was like i had flown it before. There is almost no getting use to. After the weekend was over, we came home with a first place trophy, with only THREE practice flights the days before. It snaps incredible, locks in on the lines, and has a very constant roll rate.

As for the 3D portion, Ive heard a few of you say, Mike could make anything fly good. I have flown 3 other scale aerobatic planes and have been able to do, some, 3D maneuvers with them, although i could not hover or harrier them at all. Within the second day of flying this plane, i could hover, and do harriers inverted as well as upright. It is very solid and locks in very nicely!

I have also noticed that with my 27% yak and the 33% yak that i have flown, both seem to stall when i put them into certain maneuvers, where as with this plane, i feel 100% in control of the plane. It seems very difficult to stall it at slow speeds.

So if your moving from a smaller scale plane, i can guarantee you'll love the way this plane flys!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask my Dad or I, one of us will answer what we can.

Hope this helps!

I would really like to install tuned pipes in that 28 lbs plane. Can someone post a photo without the canopy/hatch to show the room available?

I saw Brendan Fly the prototype at IMAC Nationals Sportsman and Win. Also watched Mike M, Do some Hucking. This is a solid Bird!

Hey Sleepy, good morning.

I spoke with Mike yesterday and mentioned to him that i 'thought' that they had changed the date on Horizons site, he said probably so. They have a pretty close date as to knowing when they will recieve their shipments give or take just a little bit, I am going to quote Mike from what he told me yesterday when I mentioned the date looked like it had been changed...

I think mid aug is probably correct, I believe they shipped from China around the first week of July and its normally 4 to 6 week on the water.

His 4 to 6 weeks on the water...they have to go through customs and all that, so that means that they should be there in close to 4 to 6 weeks. So mid August is going to be pretty close.

I'm thinking a ZDZ 160 Champion on standard mufflers. It'd be roughly the same weight as a DA on cans and absolutely ballistic, if need be. I think I may have found my next project..

Go to horizon's website and download the manual. Those are likely the only pics you are going to get right now. Good luck with 28 pounds and tuned pipes though, if this is true:

As to the 260 that Brendan was flying at the NATS, it has a DA 100 with headers and MTW 75 cans, 7 8711's on the control surfaces, only one servo on the rudder, I cant recall what servo is on the throttle. Weight was 28.9 pounds with empty fuel tank.
Hmmm, Mike said it was 28 pounds - that very same one you have your hands on. I knew it was too good to be true! So much for my 27 pound weight goal. Maybe the pilot won't be going in mine, and now I need CF landing gear, too...in addition to the CF exhaust system, CF tubes, Kavan wheels, lightening holes in the engine box and no matchboxes. I already know that my entire battery system will drop over a half pound off of the above posted weight (my lipo setup, with all switches and regs, weighs 12.5 ounces, and I think he has three 4800mah li-ions and Fromeco regs in that one, plus heavy duty switches.), and the CF exhaust should drop another half pound. Everything beyond that is nickle and dime, though - looks like I will have to settle for 27.5 pounds

***I am being kinda sarcastic - I am fine with 27.5 pounds, but I wish "claimed" weights were accurate weights***

Brendan really loves it, he has flown it in two contests thus far, Hamilton IMAC and the NATS and won both contests with it. Its a great IMAC plane for anyone looking at getting a 35%er to compete with. Here is the video of the freestyle from the NATS with the 260, Brendan is still working on his freestyle skills... http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...hp?photo=30294
Thanks Dan_O. I was a judge on the Intermediate and Sportsman flight lines. I wore a white cap with Tru-Turn embroidered on it. Generally, I hung around witht he Texas guys about mid way from the Tx impound and where you were at the end of the line. Oh yeah, you probably didn't see me much without my black briefcase (the briefcase carried my meds and insulin supplies).

I don't see where they aren't accurate weights. They are spot on. Take away the cannisters for stock muffs and you'll drop a pound, in the 27's. What more could you ask for? DA, cans just under 29 lbs. Flying weight 27-30......you're not on top of a mountain anymore, just fly the darn thing.

Yes Sir, I believe I do remember you now. I am just getting to where I am remembering who everyone is at the local contests putting faces and names togeher, it takes a while, talked to a lot of people at the NATS that I had never seen or met before so it was kind of hard to remember.

I have already the manual and it does not show of the inside. I think the main problem to fit the CF tune pipe would be the receiver plywwod plate. The Es composite pipes dimensions are:
Length 26" (edge to edge)
Body DIA 2"
Inlet DIA 1"
Weigh 120g (4.23 oz)
