Default 56" Razor Yak 55SP

I don't know if any of you Flying Giants guys visit the Pro Bro site or not. I've visited this site to look at the for sale ads and such and have interest in some of the large fatties as I'm starting to get into them this yr. But I just noticed the Profile area in the Forum. THIS IS GREAT!!!

I have designed a 56" Yak 55SP and have kits coming soon. I don't know if anyone here would be interested in them or not. I just thought I'd pop in and see. If so I can provide some build pics, and answer any questions.

The design is a bit different than the typical fun-fly profile. In that I considerably thinned the wings down. Hence the name Razor Yak. It tracks well, snaps violently and performs great. Walls, flips, and tumbles are a blast. All control surfaces are HUGE!!!

Here are some of the specs:

56" Wing Span
56.75" Length
17-18.50 oz wing loading
813 sq. in. wing area
Sub 6lbs AUW

Requires:
Saito 91-100, OS 91 or Supertigre 90 2st.
4 metal geared high torque servos 1 mini for throttle

The kit will come with all laser cut pieces, wood to frame it up, aluminum landing gear, wing tube, and wing bolts.

I flew Iowa's Razor Yak this weekend and it is awsome!!! Excellent roll rate, transitions quickly to a stalled state, very clean rudder, and a ton of rudder authority!! I was doing Knife edge elevators from 200 ft to 3ft and they barely were moving forward! This is an awesome profile I was very impressed.

Ok. I did a build thread on the Pro Bro site if any of you would like to look through it. This is the address: http://theprofilebrotherhood.com/for...448820677d048f

There is also a thread with other peoples complete planes and set-ups at this address: http://theprofilebrotherhood.com/for...er=asc&start=0

Jeff: Glad you had fun wringing out the Yak. I enjoyed watching you and everyone else have fun with it. It's fun designing something and then seeing them get put together.

I do have 1 maybe 2 kits left. They are $120 + shipping.

Maybe we'll have to put a video collage together in Eldon in 2 weeks.

Johnny.......... Ya got yours together yet???

Here's mine.

Not sure if you would be interested but I have Iowa's original red razor yak that has suffered a crash. Its got a good left wing panel, good fuse, and a right wing that needs some help. Nothing is perfect, but the left wing and fuse are an easy fix.

I'll probably build and cover mine, but will have it sit until I free up some gear to put in it. If I win the lottery I might find some gear for it, but you have to play first to win.
