CF strips arrived Friday so My son and I got to work on the UZI again. I decided to put CF strips on the top and bottom of both wings. I also did not like the elavator joiner in the kit so I ran a strip of CF across both elevator halfs.
Here are some pics for now...time for some grub.
Motor and ESC scheduled to arrive Tuesday.

Dude.....that looks sweet! I beat mine up so much I never bother to paint, however, I have been thinking about putting some landing gear on the top wing to make my inverted landings roll a little farther.

Here she is all completed.

I went and flew two packs worth this evening. I have some motor thrust alignment to tweek on but she flys sweet.
I also forgot to even check my CG,lol
I think it might be tail heavy, the elevator is touchy but man does it hang on the prop!!!!
The first battery pack i just tried to get a feel for her and trim it out. The second pack I decided to have some fun before it got dark and did some hovering and TR. Man this thing just sits in a TR and gets down!!!!
The Hacker A3016M is a BEAST on this plane. Thats my kind of over powering, thanks for the tip HeyDick and FG crew!!!
Where is your CG at guys?
I also bought the CC software to program the ECS and I think it is pretty slick. I would be interested in what programs you guys are using in your CC ESC.

I just checked the CG and it is about an inch behind where the print shows it supposed to be. Guess that might be why it hovered so sweet and why it was hard to trim out for level flight. Hopefully he weather will let me get some more time on it tomorrow.

Well after having a radio issue...no controle at all...she went into the ground 3/4 throttle. Landing gear ripped out and one wing cut. 24 hours later with some Goop all is well. I love EPP!!!
I came home today to find a DX7 system waiting for me. Charging the TX as I type this and will be installing the RX and programing the TX tonight.
Might even get a flight in before dark. The 6100 RX is TINY. Hope the 2.4 is as good as what I have read.

Great to hear of your success on the maiden Ronnie. I've never really figured out where the CG is on mine. I cut the back end of the battery opening so my 2100's fit, and called it macaroni, never bothered to check the CG.
Yeah, ain't EPP great. Now you can take your plane lower than you ever have before with a balsa plane, knowing that even if it goes in, you can have it "Gooped" and ready to fly the next day.
One thing I should mention; if you used the toothpicks to pin the supplied phenolic firewall to the fuselage, even if you glued a piece of ply over it, glue a small piece of ply to the front of the battery cut out. The reason for this is; in a nose in crash the battery naturally gets slammed forward from the G's, and those toothpicks act like tiny spears that want to puncture the end of your lipo. Don't ask me how I know lol.
Good luck dude, and enjoy your Uzi.

All I can say is THIS PLANE ROCKS!!!! Trimmed it out today and man does this thing have fun written all over it. Elevators are so slow and sweet just like the video.
Is there a bigger battery that would give me more flight time?
I am using the TP extreme 2070 now. Two packs just is not enough, lol This plane is just too fun to fly. It is the perfect balance between foamie and balsa IMO. Thanks for the review FG!!!

Flat spins are too fun with the UZI. You can sit there and burn a whole pack doing that, lol
The rudder is super powerful.
Think I am going to order another one and have it built ready to go,lol
