Default Watch your Back!

Being all alone in a brand new County Rec. Park for Soccer I was using the open surface parking lot for a runway then flying my Mini-Funtana over the beautiful green fields. Having my car a few steps away I had the trunk open and doors unlocked, heck I was only sole around!. Upon landing and changing batteries a fellow appeared on foot( could have been one of the County ground crew) and he smiled at the plane. I then taxied out and took off taking a few steps away from car towards the center of the field....MISTAKE!!!!.....I got so wrapped-up in flyin I never suspected anything was going on behind my back. By the time I turned around he was no where in sight! I immediately went to my car and checked everything out.

Lucky for me I had my wallet and CC's locked in glove compartment. I lost a couple of items that were on my car seat ( no biggie) but it could have been costly!

Be aware at all times.Good Flyin!

That sucks, and the way it happened to you makes me think it wasn't his first time using this method. Like you said, it could have been worse.

Thievery is always lurking. Everything has to be locked down/locked up. I hate being suspicious of anybody I come in contact with and never seen before, but what choice do people give us. A fews years back at the local field I fly at, a fellow flyer had four lipo's disappear out of his box while enjoying a day flying. Ever since then, I've been weary of curiosity around my truck. Just recently friend of mine lost thousands in RC equipment in front of his house from out of his truck. It -was -locked up. And still another, lost a gas heli out of his garage.

DUDE!!.....that is so friggin wrong!! That guy has a lot of guts doing that in broad daylight , and while you we're just a few feet away.

I would never condone an action like this , but it would of been called for. I would of pulled the trigger wide open on your plane and took that SOB out while he was running away. He probably would of still gotten away...but he wouldn't of been feeling to good ya know?

Theives and liars are the worst! Sorry to hear that it happened to you.......but man....that dude had some balls.

Yeah, it's made me very much more aware. The next weekend our Club had it's spring picnic. The place was packed with cars everywhere. The public was also allowed in. During a break from my cookin chores I noticed the same beat-up pick-up crusing our lot for the 2nd time. I know you can't judge a book by it's cover but these dudes were making me nervous!. I actually walked out into our lot to let them know SOMEBODY'S watchin-you!. Geez talk about profilin people, it's made me jumpy. Mykel-T

Couple weeks back I had the helo in the back of my truck! I needed a coke so I stoped at am pm to grap somthing real quick. You know when you get that feeling not to leave it there? Well I stoped thru it in the cab. No big deal right? The cashier had notice it and said it was smart they have had a rash of theft. Two minutes later some lady is screaming her purse had been stolen while she was pumping gas. I havent stoped ther since!! Fontana CA SUCKS!!! My buddy got the window of his F150 and a second bullet hole in his door Friday night..

I heard of somebody having their car stolen and of somebody having their wallett yanked out of their back pocket while they were flying a giant scale.
