BigBirds XFC Trip from TX!!

Hey guys,
Just wanted to post some info and pics about my trip to the XFC. Started out with a marathon build of an Aeroworks 42% 260. Go the airplane Last Thursday and test flew it Friday! Thanks to lots of help from flying buddies in San Antonio. Bob, Bret, Mike, Marc. Thanks for pushing to make sure I was working on the airplane and not screwing around. I left San Antonio on Saturday morning and drove to Joplin, MO to have a beer with my old man for the first time in 9 months.
Today which is the Sunday before the XFC I made the trek to St Louis. Stopped in Rolla to see Brian Zang from Aerographics. The Sticker Biotch hooked up my new Extra. Now that the plane is pimped and ready for the show it was time to go fly. I met up with Mark Trent in Orchard Farm, MO. There is a decent flying field there. Granted a few obstructions that you will see in the pictures could grab you! LoL. I was able to fly 4 flights and really get the airplane trimed in a no wind situation.
Tommorow Mark and I are planning on going back out the field tommorow and burn some fuel. Fast Ford Jason (Closet IMACer) is going to come out with his new Carden Extra. Right now we are back at Mark's drinking BUD LIGHT and watching the Electric Flight school movie making fun of JAS and Animal not real sure about the frequency board! Looks good big bird. I was out at the FARM all day Sat. Monday looks like a wash but I am going to try to make it out...... The new 260 is well................... Awsome

I was out on the Farm till about 12:45 on Sunday, it had just started to sprinkle when I left. How long are you going to be in the STL?

Jason it is looking dry to me. Fick I'm going to be in STL untill early Thursday morning. Mark and I are planning on flying everyday after 3pm at the Farm. Got batteries charging now. Should be out there by 3:30. See you guys soon. Jason

I'll see about stopping by after work tomorrow or Wednesday. Maybe I'll see about getting a kitchen pass for a couple of hours. My plane is still in the trailer from the weekend with a fresh 5 gallons of gas.

Fick sounds good. Bax and Jason came out today. Both of those guys have been burning some fuel since last year. Very impressed with there progress. I got about 5 practice flights in with the music on 3 of them. Starting to look much cleaner and my airplane is performing very well. Mark is making huge strides every flight. I didn't get any pictures today. The weather was awesome with almost perfect blue sky. Lots of fun getting ready for such a big event but stressful at times to. Just found out that Bevis is going to fly. That should heat up the water a little! Going to be a great time in Muncie this weekend. If your in a drive able distance do yourself a favor and check it out.
