FL.AV8r, and how about your maiden..we've waiting here to know.. nothing from anyone since over a week or so..now is 8/29

This has been a most interesting build and a pleasure to follow along..is there anyone else with a Talon and say how about some more info on the Thor45..

It rained last Sat. Was going out 2day to fly it,,, but the wife woke up sick. She's better now, so maybe this Sat.

Thanks for posting.
No, I don't have the engine fixed yey, but probably this week, as I have ordered a new CH auto advance ignition system and was HOPING it would arrive today.... maybe tomorrow.
The plane flies like a big trainer... of course I am slightly underpowered right now, she should come alive soon and then I'll get to wring the Talon out a bit.... can't wait !

I got the new ignition all set up on the THOR engine and will do a run up in the driveway later today, and depending on that outcome... a re-maiden will occur tomorrow... hopefully with new found POWER !

Hello everyone,...Fishdeth, Fla.AV8R,..

Fishdeth (Jim) how was the runup in the driveway? The new ignition, does it seem to have promise.. guess you'll find out tomorrow.. Hope all is working and the this is the fix needed. Could you post here what part numbers etc,.. and where to purchase the new ignition system that you got yours. you know,...the whole scoope )

Tell us of the install err share with us how to do it..specially those of us not to experienced of how to make this transferrrrmation. do ya bolt it up just as you took off the old one?

Took it out yesterday for its maiden flight,,, discovered a fuel line leak,,, didn't have any more fuel line... but I DID take some nice pics. Hopefully I'll get back out there this week for its "SnapasarusBadass" maiden. AND, yesterday we started moving the runway 1000 ft. to the north !

ahhh great looking photo's FL.AV8r.. would be great to see a movie of your maiden of the Talon & power-plant in action. Tell-ya the reason is:::: I've been talikng to Chris about getting my order in for the Talon. I already have the Thor45cc NIB. I don't know which version it is. (I'm confused with all the sorts of many write-ups concerning this motor. Thus is why I was asking Fishdeth all about his ignition sytem he just got to upgrade his Thor. I hope this is the fix for sure. So if I've got a good Thor45 as our guy at our LHS has one on his plane and runs just great as he demo in the parking lot. It sounded good so the following week I bought one without doing any research on the motor first. The Talon, I had one with a evolution 35 on it, but some guy and his helicopter flew into mine doing his 3d stuff. Nothing left but the fuse and motor is damaged although it may run again before the season is out.

Lot's of luck to all of you on your motor's and maidens.. looking forward to more reports. Back to my little work-shop geting ready for my Talon order.. dang!..too great-a-day-to be inside but at least getting everyhting ready (besides..can't go anywhere because of being on-call status for the job (

In close, wanna say I've learned many ideas from this build forum and can't wait to get started myself..

I guess you guys have been wondering about my "maiden" ,,, well . . . It hasn't happened yet. -------------sigh-----------
I've been rather busy lately. But I'm gonna try to do it this Sat. WEATHER PERMITTING !!!

Yesterday I fixed my plug wire problem. It was directly behind the exaust, 'bout 2 inches away. So I re-directed it.

Maiden went very well. ZERO (0) trim required ,,, take off roll-out wuz about 4 feet @ 1/2 throttle. We video'd the first few minutes of the flight, but the camera battery died. Winds were right down the runway @ 10 mph. Landing speed was about 4-5 mph,, ,, ,, ,, SWEET
My CG is 1/4 inch in front of the wing tube.... So I think I'll set it at dead-center of wing tube for some good 3-D. And I'm gonna add smoke pump & tank.... big planes just NEED SMOKE !

So, with only one flight, I like it. We'll do it again 2morrow.

ps..... UNLIMITED VERTICAL at 1/2 throttle !

Congrats on the maiden !
I just put a new ignition system and hope to check out the engine / plane a bit more this weekend.
Hopefully my ignition problems aer over and I can start wringing the Talon out !!!
