I am not sure how your Rep is, but mine would do everything he could to make me happy with the product. As with every manufacture though, it is getting the product to the public. The manufacture is relying on their employees to perform their job correctly. You must have got one of the planes built on a day during their sports playoff season. Not sure if your a sports fan or not but if you are how well do you do your job during playoffs? (Hope you understand my point)

I hope that everything works out for you. If this is your first Comp-Arf, once you get it in the air I am sure you will be pleased. If you take your time a build it correctly, there isn't a plane that will out do it (in my opinion). Hopefully someday they will make this plane in the Futaba scheme. If so I will definitely own one myself.
Catman,
WHAT DO YOU MEAN PLAYOFFS? AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY WOULD I DO MY JOB IF IT WERE PLAYOFFS? WHO GIVES A RATS @$$ ABOUT PLAYOFFS?
YES I AM A SPORTS FAN BUT THIS DOES HAVE ANY THING TO DO WITH MY PLANE BEING GARBAGE!!!!!!
AGAIN I HAVE A $700.00 U S E L E S S PILE OF COMPOSITE SITTING HERE NOT DOING ME ANY GOOD.
MY PLANE SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUILT RIGHT FROM THE GET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND IT SHOULD NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN LET OUT OF THE FACTORY IN THAT CONDITION!!!!!!
AND SO FAR I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE I'M GETTING. WAIT A MINUTE I'M NOT GETTING ANY SERVICE B E C A U S E MY REP WILL NOT CONTACT ME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHO KNOWS THIS COULD TAKES WEEKS OR MONTHS TO GET THIS STRAIGHT FOR ALL I KNOW. I'M SORRY BUT I'M NOT TRUSTING COMP-ARF VERY MUCH RIGHT NOW!!!!
IF THEY WOULD AT LEAST E-MAIL ME BACK TO LET ME KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE CARE OF IT I WOULD AT LEAST FEEL BETTER KNOWING THEY ARE LOOKING OUT FOR ME THE C U S T O M E R. OR EVEN GIVE ME SOME KIND OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT THEY KNOW I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY NEW ARF I WOULD FEEL BETTER. I'VE SENT ABOUT 7 OR 8 E-MAILS TO THE FACTORY AS WELL AS MY "REP" AS WELL AS OTHER "REPS" AND HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE IN 3 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M SORRY BUT COMP-ARF GETS A FOR NOW.

Here is the reply I sent back to Andreas, after he e-mailed this to me.

The stabs bind a little bit, we know that. The servo which is required to be
used (at leeast 8411, better 8611A) will have absolutely no problem with the
bind. It helps centering, and still reduces play and with that the flutter
risk. So we accepted the little bind at the elevators of the first
production series. They do move to their end position, and I have checked
that personally on these first 30-40 stab units. OK you are not getting the picture here
all but about 2 Robarts are put in crooked meaning they are turned and not put in straight and one of the hinges is broken because of the bind.

They all move fully, and if there are cracks, the cracks are only in the
microballon glue to allow the hinges to move freely. The hinges are glued in
their full length. Again The cracks and fractures are in the fiberglass itself at the hinge bevels and there is no way to get in behind it to securly glue it back. Besides I shouldnt have to glue it or repair it IT'S A NEW PLANE!!!!!!

The cutout is handmade, and possibly sanded a bit to prevent aileron
locking. The shape of the bottom cut has nothing to do with the function. It
just was sanded so that the aileron would not lock. That's fine, and
absolutely OK missing the point here, The botton skin where the airleron slides over is damaged and is delaminated from the wing Also you the cut was made by someone that had to have had at least 4 or 5 shots of Socki (I think I spelled that right) instead of the cut being like this------------ its like this ~~~~-----~~~~--- I'm sure you guys get the picture here.

The wings have been mounted to the fuselage on the QC2 table, for every
single plane we produce. There is no way that the wings would not fit the
fuselage. It might be that the angle of one pin is a little bit out of
allignment towards the wing tube, which means, it needs a little bit
pressure to slide the wing over this point. As soon as the wing sits in the
seat, there is no tension anymore. Apperant the wings were never installed at the factory because the right hand wing panel WILL NOT GO ON!!!!! Something will break if I forced it on.

The missing hole at the rudder: Push the rod in from the bottom, and slide
it through all the way, then give it a little hit. I am sure there's only a
little bit of putty in the top end of the hole, which needs to be removed. The hole was never drilled in the first place.

Thank you
Shawn A.

Thumbs down Re: Comp-Arf Extra 300L 2.12M

Well,

After looking at the pictures, and the response you just posted, you just talked me out of the purchase I had planned for the end of the month!

The quality of the ARF you got in no way matches what I have seen at the field from other Comp-ARF owners, that is a fact. But the BS response from the factory is a load of !

Keep us informed of the end of this, but it makes me question the idea of buying anything from them right now. Instead of the customer is always right, you got the "Let me tell you why you are wrong" speech. That is usually the first signs of terrible future support!

Just my opinion, but all you Comp-ARF owners can flame away if you want.

Jfstrama,
I would indeed be careful of Comp-Arf!!!! I am however going to wait untill Jason Shulman my Comp-Arf rep is back from Australia as he lives 5 minutes from me and I am going to see if I can take the plane over to him and show him every thing thats wrong with it. It's only fair customer service that this is taken care off by replacing the kit or refunding my money. I'm sure someone like Jason Shulman and Comp-Arf would not want to have a tarnished reputation over this. Because as it is now I feel that the plane would be un-safe to fly if built. I had friends suggest I fix it myself but the fact of the matter is I SHOULD NOT have to and even if I did repair it I would still have an inferior product. I will keep everyone posted because I am not giving up the fight as I am seeking help through other channels as well. And you have a point I would like other Comp-Arf owners to chime in as well. In fact I would like to invite any and all who have had horrible customer support from Comp-Arf to pm me.

Shawn

I did recently have a missing part on an ARF from Extreme Flight, within a day of the phone call I had a replacement. You can bet that I'll be doing more business with them in the future!

Keep us informed and I hope they make everything right (although I agree with you 100%, it should have been right before you got it!)

Joe

Hey Jose how are ya? I'm not trying to keep anyone from buying a Comp-Arf I'm just trying to get people aware that if this happened to me it could happen to someone else!!!!! I just happen to be an example of poor customer service on the part of Andreas the owner of the company. And it could cost me $700.00 before it's over.
I am going to give my rep the benefit of the doubt as he was out of the country performing in a contest. Also I am seeking help through other channels to try and get this resolved if my rep cant help me, I'm not giving up without a fight!!!!! I will say this I have been getting multiple PM's regarding poor quality and customer service from Comp-Arf here as well as other R/C forums. Just be carefull.
