Stand up and be counted

Hey all, I'm getting ready for the next build and was wondering what anyone with experience with these airframes would suggest. I've narrowed it down to a few airframes and posted the up on the poll. I'd like one that's a good combination between precision and 3D, and has great power to weight ratio.
Thanks for your thoughts, Izzy |

Being someone who has owned a 2.6 YAK and having sold it over a year ago, with all the new offerings, I would still buy another one and plan too very soon.

i have not had a Gen III QQ yet but i have had 2 GenII's, my best flying budy had the comp arf and i have had a SD 35% Yak and a comp arf extra 330 2.6 meter. hand down the QQ 102 is the best all around plane for me and my budy with the compy will tell you the same thing. the SD is a great flying plane but a little to heavy in the 100cc class for my taste and the comps cost to much and are very hard to repair.
then get to what should make almost as much difference as how a plane flys,,, service from the people you buy it from! QQ aircraft is the best of the best and the others are um...........ok maybe. randy racer |

I can tell you about a plane that has great flight capabilities, low cost for the airframe, looks cool and is of the highest quality. Wild Hare. If you want something simalar to the yak they have the Sukhio. Or the 50cc Yak. They are soon to come out with a 100cc Extra. I think. That's what it says on the webiste. Read on about em. I'm tellin you it's worth your time.

Just go for the QQ Yak, they should be shipping out this week. I owned a 2.6 Comp Arf Yak and it's also a great plane, not taking anything away from it, but the QQ is a better all around flying plane, less expensive, and much much easier to repair than a composite plane. All it takes is one bad landing or accidental ding and your plane will more than likely never look the same. To top it off the service at QQ Aircraft is second to none.

My QQ G3 is suppose to ship tomorrow I think. Only reason I dont like Comp is how much they cost but they are sweet flying planes. SD models are also great flying planes I just dont know about the cost. Any of the three are great. I am going with QQ though.

Look at my pics and videos that I have in my gallery, and there is some of my Yak in there if you are interested in pics and/or videos. . . You cant go wrong with a plane designed by a wold class pilot! ![]() Just my .02 cents. Seth

a couple of guys at the field have the gen 2 QQ yak and it's a sweet flying plane. I can only imagine how the new ones have come out. the reason I was thinking of comparf was that the paint job lasted forever (unless you damaged it), but I don't know how to work with composites yet and you're right, one bad landing and it's pretty much done.

Hi,
I had the comp-arf Yak and the 2.6m extra, they fly verry well.( with the DA 100 ) Bud now I fly the X-treme comp edge 2.6m with the 3W 106CS and it is the best plane I ever had. It's a great 3D plane and also verry stable for the IMAC. Regards Sapca |

I havent owned any of these planes but have friends who have a QQ Yak gen II and an SD models Yak. In my unbiased opinion...the QQ Yak beats them all in flying. Combine that with the QQ service and cost and it soon becomes a no-brainer.

For IMAC : Comp ARF Yak by far.
For 3D: QQ Yak by a lot.

The QQ YAK excels in both 3D and Imac/pattern. It is designed by a world class PATTERN pilot..pay attention to the tail momoent of a QQ yak, its longer, which in turn helps it rail like stability in a straight line. ANY and ALL ARF's have some bad/ weird tendencies, you will have to work through them. I think you should look at :
1. weight 2. wing area / less weight + more surface area = lighter wing loading...making it a better flying / more stable plane. JM 2cents..I fly the QQ 102" Yak and it rocks.
