I thought it was caused by the pack depletion but it turned out to be the snapped motor shaft.

Here is the slomo in hires that shows rotor slowdown just prior to crash.

That's unreal. I remember his first few flights with a foamy! He has come so far and at such a young age.

DD:

He started on heli sim with G3 around the end of March 2006. His first flight was on Raptor 50 on a buddy box for safety in May 2006.

As good as he is, kudos to you and your wife also for fanning the flame and providing him with the environment to excel. Does he enjoy those demos, how about competitions?

Thanks BoneDoc:

I gotta be REAL careful with competitions. It will tend to make parents push their kids. As for demos, he gobbles up cheers and he won't get in the mood for demos when there are no one to fly for. I can see that he doesn't like to practice (repetiton to get better) at all. He will attemp it and if it doesn't happen, he will move on to something else. He says he wants to compete but not sure if he knows what that means in terms of preparation which may just take the fun out of it. We'll see how the rest of the year pans out.
