Jay Benson's 35% SD Yak (boy, there's a bunch of these out there!) didn't like sitting in the pits too much.....it prefered to "hang out" over the runway. Jay hucked in down all day!

And everyone else wanted a piece of the action, too! Here's BaxterNick after wearing out his Extra. I'm diggin' your prop, Nick, and it looked like you were, too!

And Tec kept his huckin' all day as spotter Alan Arthur assists.

Of course, I couldn't let them have all the fun so I kept the QQ Yak working while Benson wielded the camera.

With all the heat and humidty comes the threat of afternoon precipitation. We haven't had much these days, but rain fell on us for about 10-15 minutes this day. We just hunkered down a waited it out.............

....well, most of us did. Tweek (Dave Hockaday) wasn't 'skeerd' and just flew his Hobby Lobby "Taxi" from under the tent! The rain was falling harder than it looks in the pics, guys! Dot Com (aka Ifly3D) was amused.

The Jacksonville guys had a drive ahead of them so they began to pack up. But the rest of us hung out, told lies, and checked out each other's airplanes. Tec won the award for the "hottest pilot".

Then the clouds cleared, the sun appeared and the angels sang.....

We weren't done yet. Not even close. After we bid farewell to our J-ville compadres, the flight line went right back to looking like this.

And still more Travelling Circus members showed up. Here's Jay Ingle (JayI or Jingle) putting his SD 50cc Yak together...and throwin' it down!

The warbirds were left some air too and they provided plenty of excitement.

What began as BubbaFlys2's P-47 (with Larry on the sticks) and Jay Benson's overpowered Focke Wulf ARF doing low formation passes, ended with the FW dead sticked into the grass....US 1, Germany 0.

But the war wasn't over. A little later, they took to the sky again with Dane Edwards now at the controls of the Neil's P-47. The passes got lower and faster. And then it was time for payback. Jay's FW ran right up beside the P-47 and threw a Juan Pablo Montoya on him! He literally rammed him!

The skillfull pilots both landed their planes and we saw the extent of the damage. Jay threw a head butt on Neil's aileron and pieces of it were lodged in and on his cowl.....Cool! US 1, Germany 1 STAY TUNED IN MOREHEAD FOR THE TIE BREAKER.

And the flying and antics continued.......

Here, Matt Richards bails from his chair right before his dad releases water on him that had accumulated on the tent above.

So night began to fall upon RDRC and we were through for the day...NOT!

Hey, this is the "Circus". As Jay showed above, we just took a break for a little nourishment and then pulled out the foamies in the restaurant parking lot. It was a full on 3D extravaganza at first.........
