Ok, I guess I can post some more pics from the Summer Sizzler event at the coast this weekend.

Friday night included Dustin's wizardry with the beer can as seen previously and even more amazing tricks with the ever-present foamies in a dimly lit parking lot next to the hotel.

Here's our boy Larry with his resurrected (again!) Insane Yak doing it's thing. After the parking lot connection we coached him into last Sunday, the now less-than-perfect bearings made his outrunner sound like a recip engine! But he was certainly getting on with it.

He likes to say "I love this hobby!" and gave the 'ole girl a hovering kiss to prove his affection. I don't think he trimmed any hair in the process....

... Jay was nearby hovering his newest flagship and it decided it wanted some love from Larry, too. Since I haven't figured out how to take photos and fly at the same time, my Yak waits on the sidelines.

You know how they have "stupid pet tricks" on Letterman? How about the "headstand" or the "Yak-in-the-cap"?

This fliying action attracted a bunch of curiosity from customers at a nearby ABC store (on a Friday night, no less). I recall one girl saying "make that plane float over my friend's head so I can get a picture". BTW - the wives rolled up about then and mine said "I see you have a few groupies". We're in it for the chicks!

Here's a couple more shots of Jay's cool Yak. He obviously put on a nice paint job to match his SD Yak. He's loving this one too much...it barely has a scratch on it....wait, I see a chip on the TE of one aileron, Jay.....I guess it's Tootsie Roll time!

So on to the Summer Sizzler. It's an aptly named event because it was quite HOT there. That didn't stop us...it never does. We just opened up our trailers and a bunch of airplanes began to spill out.........we don't like Yaks, do we? We had big ones, little ones, orange ones, blue ones. Man, I used to read alot of Dr. Suess to my kids growing up!

And we were ready for this heat after last year. I came armed with what I would like to call the "wind tunnel" method of air conditioning : take one trailer, match it with one well positioned box fan, funnel it with one dual purpose Vess Prop sign, power it with a quiet Honda generator, and blow it right under a shady tent.

Larry used the less complicated "sit-n-spin" method: take one rotating pedestal fan and stick it next to the tent. It worked equally well.

I also saw that "Do" had a high-flow fan in action but I have no photo documentation of his handywork.

I managed to squeeze off a few shots in between a bunch of flights during the day and I'll just post them here and let them speak for themselves. I never had the camera at the flightline to take flying shots, but I did see several others there. So upload 'em when you can guys.

The entire Travelling Circus really had a great time and would like to thank CD David Jones, event director Tim Nunn, and the rest of the hard working Crystal Coast RC gang for a killer event. The crowd seemd to enjoy it, too!
