OK... The New Year's Day FunFly/Cookout is still on schedule.... Gonna be COLD and windy, but we'll have fun anyway. The events will be short (most only 30-60 seconds per person, each). You can participate in some, all, or none of the events...but they're FUN, so you'll want to do them! The sky will be open for general flying most of the time, too. This is what we'll be doing:

- Taxi Race: No FunFly is complete without this. We'll set up a ground pattern and you'll have to run around it as quickly as possible without leaving the ground. Shortest time wins

- Touch & Gos: You'll take off, and do the most T-N-Gs you can in 60 seconds. Figure-8 T-N-Gs are acceptable.

- Climb-N-Glide: A classic... You'll have 30 seconds after takeoff to climb as high as you can, then drop the engine to LOW idle. Glide as long as you can. Longest glide time wins.

- DDD (Dixie Double Death): Take off, two loops, two rolls, two spins, and land. Shortest time wins.

- Loops: Most loops in 60 seconds. Square loops are bonus points (x 1.5)... 10 loops = 10 points. 10 Square loops = 15 points.

- Surprise event, depending on time (something like Dead Stick Touch-N-Goes, Inverted Taxi Race, Landing Tailslides, etc hehehehe)

Due to the wind, we probably won't be doing Limbo... Bring something to cook and/or drink, dress to stay warm. Don't worry about being there before 10am, we probably won't start until 11 due to the expected 30 or lower chill factor! See y'all there!

Dave

Dude, I hope so, I saw Larry and JQQ taking some pics. We were burning it up all day. Bryan & I were kicking it with our Senior Taildraggers, there were sport planes, 3-D, Warbirds, some killer heli action, JQQ was burning up the sky with her L-13, Robert was showing the crazy stuff the Magic would do...man, there was so much that I can't remember it all. Oh, I saw two old Kraft radios (A 5c & a series 76 7C) on 2.4 GHZ!! It looked like a weekend at the field, there was a crowd there all day. Sorry you missed it!

Here's J'Quique with the new CLEAR canopy version of the "Lucky 13". Looks really nice, and really brings out the better lines of the plane.

Look verrrrrrrry close at this pic ya'll. You most likely wont recognize this member. It's actually John "Fun Nazi" Keesler!!! He's not wearing his Camo Pants, nor does he have a cigar in his mouth. Talk about being out of your element!!

Yep, several of us are planning on it, Sonny. We look forward to it!

Oh, and are you going to get us 2-3 sheets of that 3" blue foam so that we can start the "2EZ" production line? Warren tells me that you are looking into it for us. Saturday would be a great time to get some from you if you can swing it before then.
