Bob's been telling us about how he was going to have a new means of "toting" he and Matt to events in style this year now that the "Dr. Pepper Van" has moved on. Well, today he rolled up to the field with his new Chevy truck pulling this! Michael Hollowell said "now you've raised the bar for all of us, Bob". I think he's right.

I'll let Bob give you all he details, but here's some pictures of his new "Toy Hauler". It looks like it has everything you need to get your planes to the field, eat/sleep/and "do other things" in air-conditioned comfort, and hang out in the shade. Cool!

Not much!

I got a few chuckles when I pulled up, dropped the ramp, and pulled out a foamie. This was the first time I pulled it anywhere (except home from the dealer). I wanted to see how hard it was to hitch up, pull to the field, and park it once I got home (have to back up the driveway). I was able to do all of this easily by myself. I was hoping it was going to be easy so I would be more likely to use it for daily trips to the field, and I think it is going to work quite well. Well enough that I will probably sell my 6x12 trailer. I can also leave most of my stuff in the trailer so it will free up some room in the workshop. Now I need to figure out a rack to hold the planes... Everything folds up against the wall, but I think the rear fold-down bed will stay down and I can build a rack on top of that. All the tools, chairs, canopy, etc will store underneath.

If you have the funds, now is a good time to purchase something like this. The RV industry is hurting, and most dealers are having a hard time moving inventory. I got a really good deal to begin with, and the dealer even threw in an electric tongue jack and the equalizer hitch.

Hi Michael, I think the sign itself looks great ! I have always thought the logo could stand a little updating, but it is a tradition....

I'm a new club member but I think that sign looks great, like Jason said the RDRC logo is tradition and is very recognizable. I think the "Home of the Fly for Tots" is a great addition.
Off to the field

A rainy monday... Had big plans to get some stick time in today, guess I'll work on the RDRC website a bit, and tinker on a project in the shop instead...

Adam,

There are no hook ups at the field (primative camping only)... So water and electricity is on your own.
