After all the frustration yesterday, I'm taking a break from RC for a few days. Heading for Hertford now. Back in a couple of weeks.

Hey Blair, see ya when you get back. Check out rdrc.tv while you're gone, to keep your "flying fix" going. I had stuff to do this morning for Debbie, and got some help from Chris. We did finally get to fly at the local field a bit before having to load up for a road trip. Was a nice evening to fly!

You must have been parked at the OTHER end of the field. I don't remember seeing you there.

They had a great flyin. There were trailers and canopies from one end of the flightline to the other. Lots of good flying, and great weather. A couple of T28 gaggles, Mike Winstead and I managed to touch wings once. Josh had a little foamy aggravate his EF Yak when it flew. Beans 2, turbines 1.

Michael took a few pictures, I'm sure he will post when he gets a chance.

Wow, what a flyin... Tarheelrcflyers sure have a nice field.

Here is the re-cap + pics that I can offer...

More than 50 pilots... huge variety of planes... plus TONS OF CRASHES and FIRES !!!!

Yes FIRE !!!! I finally got to use, no on my own jet, but on Joe's jet when he went straight into the bean field on final approach. Not sure of the total damage but it was sure fun using my C02 fire extinguisher for the first time... of course I took it to the next level by randomly shooting it at other people betters ends after the fire patrol was over

Granted unfortunately; I, Bill H., Bill Z. were all part of the bean squad. Bill had 2 engines out (one on take off and one on landing) that put him into the beans - no damage taken. After a little tuning of the carb got the engine running for a 3rd very successful flight. Bill Z. clipped the bean tops on his landing, again no damage. Then there was me... for some reason, the ShockJet wouldn't rotate on takeoff and went straight into the beans at the south end. Unlike my predecessors, I did take damage, splitting the wing spar in two. It's repairable and I should be back in the air shortly. Not too shabby for having over 50 successful flights without incidence. On the plus side Mike S. flew his reactor Jet and did show that 1 of the 3 true jets that show up there could actually fly.

John K., Steven S., Bob R., and Hotdog Josh B. were also in attendance. They all have very successful flights throughout the day. John was also a big winner from the raffle winning 2 times... better go play the lottery tonight John

Well now onto the pictures...
