Something really interesting happened to me at the RM fly-in.

Many years ago (30?) there was a guy in the Wilson club named Bob Smith. He could not fly, but loved to build model airplanes, and was one of the first in this area to build giant scale planes. Anyway, he ended up getting me to fly most of his planes for him back then. He had some young grandkids back then that would go out and watch us fly.

Well, yesterday, one of those grandkids managed to find me at this fly-in. I knew him as "Bucky". He had recently moved to a house a few miles away from the RM field, and saw a sign pointing to the airshow. He drove out to the field and asked if anyone knew me, and they promptly pointed me out to him. His grandfather passed away 5 years ago, and his grandmother gave him a couple of his planes. He does not have much interest in learning to fly, but it was really neat to talk about the flying we did 30 years ago, and to hear it from the perspective of someone that was 5 years old at the time.

Who knows, maybe he will decide to try flying some day...
