You know, they just might be making jokes at you since you have no idea what they are talking about.

I'm in...David was down at the shop this past week to pick up some goodies for the event. They're having a Bar-B-Q lunch, prizes, and lots-o-flying. Brandon, Mike, Jason, and others had a blast there last year.

So far, I know Chris, Bryan, and I are going up. Anyone else?

Dave

The U2 concert at Carter-Finley Stadium is that same day so I don't know if Larry and I can make it to Roanoke Rapids.

Very nice field with excellent facility's. And equally nice people running the event.
Thanks to Joe Rafalowski and all the crew for a great time.

Only problem is that going to this event showed me just how much of a jet rookie I really am!

Here are a few pics.
Mike, I knew you would love that flying site. And from what I have been told, they had a great turnout. I'm glad someone from our area made it down to support Joe!

I wish I could... I am hating not being able to go... this is one flyin I haven't missed in many years... it's that good.
Enjoy yourselves, and let me know if you see "pigs fly".
PS - remember to have people stake down their tents... don't want any of flying away like last year... haha.

Michael

Oh yeah!! Great place to fly, and when Joe found out that my mother-in-law lives just down the road in Peach Tree City and that the wife and I might have to be traveling back there because of some health concerns with her, he gave me an open invitation to fly there if i was visiting. It doesn't get any better than that.

I will be going back there next year for "Super Jets South", even if old Larry whats his name cancels out on me at the last minute again.

As for Roanoke Rapids, I am trying to convince some of the Greenville crowd to go. I am pretty sure I will pull up there Saturday

Just a quick note. Josh, Wess Ryman and myself met up Saturday morning for some breakfast, then headed south to FayetteNam. Piedmont Aeromodelers held their annual giant scale meet, and even with the rain in the forecast, we felt it only fitting to attend their meet. If nothing else but to personally thank them for all the support they gave to FFT.
Well,,,, the skies never cleared, but we did get in some good flying beneath the gray clouds. They had a pretty good turn out and a LOT of public spectators. We all had prune looking feet at days end, but we had a great time as well.
After a day of flying, JOsh and myself headed in to town to visit Hayes Hobby. Again, to thank them for their support to FFT. I hadnt been to Hayes Hobby Shop for amnnnnnnnnnny years. In fact, I was like 13 or 14 years old! Talk about PACKED!!!!! It was great meeting all of the Hayes. Allen, Gentry, and his wife. They told us they were proud to be a part of FFT and looked forward to many years to come.
Anyway,,,on Sunday Jacqui and I headed to Clayton NC to witness Brandon Hockaday take the plunge!!!! And plunge he did! Congrads to Brandon and LUCY ! Well,,,,its actually Lacy, but the preacher called her Lucy during the ceremony! Needless to say there was a lot of laughter when that happened. All took it well and things went smooth afterward.
Man,,,,,,I dont think we have many single members left in RDRC now!
So who''s next,???????????????????
