we even tried to have a calling circle but we were ignored and the wind kept on coming....need to keep Larry away from the beans next time

If there are too many of them it will be urge overkill....

Those are cool pics from the "Dave-Cam" and "Chris-Cam".

The weather report wasn't too great for yesterday, but the circus loaded up in force anyway and headed to Frankie Coburn's field in Greenville for the Flying Tigers' "Big-Bird, Little-Bird" Fly-In. Josh, Larry, Bob, Jason, Blair, and Chris (50%) rolled in to the field with some unexpected sunshine above us. But even more unexpected were the high winds that seemed to keep strengthening as the day went on. All I can say is that it was so windy (maybe 20-30 mph!) that I flew my Python only once and then put it away! But, we did get out our T-28's for a mass launch and for some reason we did fly the Urge foamies in the strong wind (with many laughs).

The day of flying ended around 2:00 when we decided it wasn't going to calm down. But we had a ton of laughs all day and enjoyed our time there as always. Thanks to Frankie, Mike, Tee and all the Flying Tigers for putting on the event.

Man Larry, all you needed to do was get out that kite and the wind would have stopped!

I knew the wind was going to pick up, so I had my T28 ready to go at the pilots meeting, and was off the ground as soon as the meeting was over. I then went back and flew my Yak profile, and my Aspera. All within about 45 minutes.

I had a new prop (10x10 APC) on the Aspera, and it was a missle! Now I have to figure out how to get rid of the flutter.

Flying the Urge in the wind was a hoot. The wings were starting to flutter when I had to go near full throttle just to get back to the field.

Great times, as always, at the Big Bird Little Bird flyin.
