Hey Gang.
Not sure how many of you ride motorcycles, but I wanted to let those who do ride know about our weekend trip we have planned out. We're meeting up in front of Scootworks/East R/C around 8:30 Sunday morning. 9:00 AM it's kickstands up, and we're headed to Southport NC for a fresh seafood lunch. Southport is just south of Wilmington. We're taking hwy's 96, 301, 701 and 421 to get there. When we arrive at Fort Fisher ( thats where 421 ends) we'll be taking the ferry across the pond to Southport. It's a 35 minute ride on the ferry. After lunch we plan to visit one of the gift shops there, then head back home. Most likely we'll come back via I-40, but if time allows we can take 421 again. It's going to be a great day-trip and ANYONE is welcome to fall in line with us. We dont care what brand you ride. We're motorcycle riders,,,not brand supporters.
We'll get pictures posted up in here after the ride, so the rest of you be looking for something different on the Circus thread. Many of the riders will be RDRC members, but we'd love to see other area club members join in with us. I know some of the Rocky Mount gang likes to twist the grips. So you guys get over here to. Oh,,,,, almost forgot! This aint one of those "Guys Only" rides. Several of the riders will be running "two up" with their wifes or lady friends. So bring your sweety pie along also.

Bob,,,,hurry up and get that Bike!
Robert,,,,,,,,, "Come on,,,,,,,it'll be fun"!!!!
Jingle Bells,,,,,, This would be a GREAT first trip on that new bike of yours!

We'll see you guys and gals Sunday morning.

Chris gave that ARF to me for Christmas about 3 years ago! I've worked on it about 15 minutes/month ever since :-) . Just finally got the motovation to get it finished. I'm afraid the wood is rotted or the glue has gone bad, hehehehehehe

We'll see... it does remind me a lot of the Top Flite Holy Smoke I had many years ago. That's what I had in mind when I started my mild Arf-bashing. The vertical stab is the actual part I saved from the old 'Moshter' (Holy Smoke). I trimmed it up a little & cut a rudder into it. Here's a pic of the Holy Smoke I had in the 80's, and the stab I saved for some reason (after all those years!)...

Here is what I've been working on.
110" EF Yak Russian Thunder scheme

1- Hannah holding the standoff box to mount the 85
2 and 3- My version of Robert's choke linkage on my DA 85. I used the 2-56 ball link and threaded rod that comes with the Yak and fabricated a longer choke arm and used a 10-32 screw with a servo arm for the guide.
4- Our "neighbors" that visit us every evening down here south of Raleigh.
5- The Yak

Wes, your Yak looks like it's coming along great! We can't wait to have you join the "Yak Attack" at RDRC. Hannah is looking cute, as always....

Oh yeah, don't ever let Larry visit you at your new house during the Fall season because your neighbors might start disappearing!

Speaking of the 2009 Fly-for-Tots, I've finished the artwork for the event promotional flyer. It's at the printer now to get quotes for glossy color prints like I had made last year.

Here's a preview of what it looks like (smaller than actual size and of less resolution) and the official, full-resolution PDF file that can be used on the website and whenever it needs to be e-mailed to a potential sponsor, etc.
