Money.

Or, if I am feeling REALLY generous, maybe an Airtronics radio.

NAHH, I'll take money for it.

LOL. Don't you mean "Groundtronics" radio?? You know, you can't crash an airplane if the radio is in the shop getting a broken rudder wire fixed.

This is the toyhauler/tow vehicle.

Seriously, I'm getting a K-Z MXT20, which the cargo/living area is all shared. Small enough that I will probably use it as a daily hauler, but laid out so Matt and I can spend the night comfortably at events. The first event might just be the FFT!

Looks like Bob will be hauling the circus around next year, in that ride.

This is a crosspost from the RDRC forum for those who don't use that newsgroup...

Chris spent part of the day working on camera & software installation/configuration, getting video streaming running, and other stuff for the new video system for installation at the field. I bought a VX-1000 camera for testing, and Chris was able to get it dialed in so it could handle daylight and focal chores over a long distance very well. There's still quite a bit of work to do, but it's coming along nicely. There was even a test broadcast for a while today, from East R/C, transmitted to the FlyFotTots.com webpage. Once debugged, cameras will look up and down the runway, out in front of the shed, and also show wind speed/direct/temp data from the field.

Dave L, can you tell us the specs on the computer? Processor, ram, etc? Chris was having a bit of trouble, once the video configuration and webcam streaming softwares were running. Is there a processor upgrade for that box that you know of? It was doing a few crazy things from time to time, perhaps you and he can get together and talk about it. It'll be perfect from a USB & compactness standpoint. Scootworks will provide a UPS to protect it from storm damage at the site.

We're running the aircard from Scootworks for the rf link at the moment. We've looked into this a bit, and are unsure what the best way to get an internet feed to the field would be. The aircard would certainly work and doesn't result in a dish hanging off the building (and being obvious to passers by), but it costs money...like any sort of feed would. Do any of you have any connections with Time Warner, Huesnet, Sprint, or other sources of possible high speed internet connections? The air card costs Scootworks about $60/month, and while I don't mind using it to get things running, I'm not interested in funding the annual costs of such a feed. I'm wondering if there's some way to get a feed (or reduction in cost) for operations, since RDRC is a non-profit org. This is ultimately for use by club members and others interested in RDRC, so I'm wondering how we can make this work from a financial standpoint.

Dave

Were we supposed to have a meeting tonight ? If so, judging from the users here at the moment, I'm not the only one who forgot all about it....
