I've been using Titebond 3 for hinges for the last 2-3 years. I'm convinced that the pacer hinge glue was the same stuff. Titebond 3 is a whole lot less expensive and easier to get.

I put a robart hinge in a piece of 1/2 balsa on a vice and tried pulling it out with pliers... I broke all the wood and then the hinge and still couldn't get it off the wood.

Go for it!
I wondered about that the first time I used teh hinge glue. Honestly, I lOVE the stuff. Ive always said it looks just like wood glue, but never took the time to test the idea. If Matty Matt says it'll work, I'll try it. I'll test it out on one of Roberts planes!!! LOL

Yup, and the FFT plane, and the last 8 dalton's I've built, small electrics... even the 80 grit 260... see, the rudder will wear off before the hinges let loose!

Bummer!!! Had I known about the Titebond 3, I wouldn't have gone through the trouble of looking for the hinge glue. Anyone looking for Pacer Hinge Glue or Castor Oil?

My receiver for my Raider came in today. Now I'm all ready for the maiden with this bird.

My CG is about 1/2 inch back from where it is supposed to be. Looks like I'll have to scrap the plastic spinner and replace it with lead; at least for the maiden flight. So, when I bring this Raider out to the field, hold all the photo shoots until I get the cheap plastic spinner back on.

When I maidened my Raider all I had to do was put in 2 clicks of down elevator and 1 click of right aileron. I believe L Lewis was balanced right off the bench also. Have you moved your battery around?

ATTENTION ALL RAIDER OWNERS!

Todays weather calls for CRAPPY, with wind, and occasional peeks of sunshine. So of you havent already, get your butts out in ths shop and finish building that racer!!!! When your Raider is ready, we plan to go over some simple set up procedures and also instruct ways to protect your new racing beauty. In others words, we want to give you some good racing techniques that will make racing fun, simple, and safe. These planes have proven to be VERY evenly matched, and VERY easy to fly. So far, we are right on target with our goal.
Robert, Mike H, and myself are headed to Wilson today to inspect what COULD be the site for NCs first jet meet. When we get back, we want to see where some PROductivity has taken place on your build tables!!!!!

Joe, I think you'll find your plane will be just fine there. Exactly where is your CG? How far back from the leading edge is it?
