Hehehe, I can only imagine what YOU will try to fly when you get to be MY age.

"Hey, Timbo, thats not an airplane. And THAT is not a joystick!!"

Besides, at some point in the future, the leaf blower WILL fly.

I just saw where KC Hobbies is having their 22nd aniversary sale this weekend, 20% off everything. I may have to go to that!

And, yes, I DID double check the date on this one.

It is with heavy heart and deep sadness that I inform our RDRC family we have lost our very dear friend Jim Charbonaugh. As many of you knew, Jim has been battling cancer the last few months, and he put up a tremendous fight. Even while Jim was in severe pain, he kept his amazing sense of humor, and kept that wonderful smile of his going. One only had to spend a short amount of time with Jim before you found yourself loving him. His great smile, wonderful sense of humor, and compassion for others will be just a few of the things I will always remember about Jim. But more than that, I think the memory I will cherish most is Jim's love for the kids of Victory Junction. Jim absolutely loved that camp, the kids, and of course the staff members that gave their time to it. Jim has played such an important part in our annual Fly for Tots charity event, and his smile will be missed so much when we hold this years event and others in the coming years. For those who don't know, Jim first came to our club during our annual giant scale meet. On his first visit out, he won the giant scale P-51 mustang we had for a raffle prize. Well, you might say that set the hook in his mouth! Jim was hooked on our club from day one, and everyone knows what an active role he has played in our club ever since. Jokingly, I always called Jim my "Mule"! Trust me, it was completely out of respect and appreciation that I called him that. Jim was "Always Ready", and no matter what the need was during FFT, Jim would take on the task and get it done. And it wasn't just FFT that Jim offered his hands. It was a regular thing for him. He spent more of his personnel time working for RDRC than most members will ever know.
Although we could never repay Jim for all he has done for us over the years, there is one thing Josh Bunn and I have been talking about in recent days. Considering the fact Jim first came to us during our annual fall Giant Scale Meet, we feel it appropriate that we name our Fall meet in Jim's honor. We have not decided on the exact wording yet. That would be a topic to address at our next meeting.
Also, Jacqui and I were talking a few nights ago, and we realized we have yet to purchase the engraved brick at Victory Junction. If some of you recall, we were having problems thinking of what wording to put on it to represent RDRC. I think that answer has been provided to us now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

We will miss you so dearly Jim,,, I know you are looking down on us now with that wonderful smile. I look forward to seeing you again in a better place, and once again we can knock holes in the clouds with our models. You'll never be forgotten buddy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Jim was the kind of person I want to be when I grow up. I know how much I have missed him these last few months and how much I wanted to hear good news, I'm sure these feelings are even deeper for those who have known him longer. My thoughts are with his family, and all of you who were close to him.
