and the final few from me....others went over to the new part of the Mall to do some electric flying, hopefully someone over there got some pix of that!!

THANKS to NORTH HILLS MALL, Raleigh for their fantastic help and assistance with putting this show off and to Jason Jarvis for doing all the arrangements with them!! Without them we would not have been able to reach so many new faces with the FFT message!! All you guys and gals out there get ready for the BEST FFT ever!!!
Come and be a part of it and make a childs day!

It was great seeing everyone out there and talking with the public and seeing their eyes grow large on hearing about the event

I dont think anyone had a camera over there. To clarify we weren't flying "over the road" what he meant to say was on the other side of the road(in a empty field)

Ok guys, just a sneak peek on the new project. That's a 3' yard stick laying on the spar. That's the right wing half only.
There will be many lightning hole cut later. No glue yet.

On Sunday, I slipped out early and went by the HLG (hand launch glider) competition going on in Wilson, NC. Bumped into Josh Bunn while I was there.

It was really neat watching this competition. Some guys could get a good 200' launch and go right into thermals. Looked like fun, too.

Dick Proseus, the event CD, has been a member of the Wilson club from back in the 70s, when I had just joined the club and was learning to fly. He told me that Wilson is having another glider contest in a few weeks (October, I think) which is going to be the event used as the US team selection for the world championship in 2011. I might have to to sneak out again - and take my reclining lawn chair.
