Default Where to get 1/16th Lite Ply ?

Some ARF manufacturers are using 3 ply 1/16th Lite Ply in their airframes. (SD Models for example) Anyone know where sheets of this can bought from ?

Thanks

Most distributors in the states sell 1/8" light ply and no thinner, Birch ply on the other hand is easy to get hold of in 1/16".

Considering that light ply is pretty fragile stuff anyway, why on earth would you want it in 1/16"?

I recently found it interesting that Dave Platt says he never uses lite ply it is no stronger than the same weight balsa.

Reason I was thinking about using it is because I have a repair job I may get around to. The airframe has mostly 1/16th lite ply in it but portions of it are crunched. I can re-glue the breaks but was thinking of doubling up with another layer of that stuff behind it. But the balsa option for a doubler is starting to sound pretty good.

Agree - lite ply is crap.

I'd bet 1/64 or 1/32 aircraft ply is as strong - or stronger - than 1/16 lite ply. I've done tricks like replacing 1/8 lite ply with sheets made up of 1/64 birch ply laminated to 1/8 balsa and you'd be amazed how strong it is. Lighter too.
