Default Tune Pipes or Cans???

Was wondering if I should go with Tune pipes or Cans for my new QQ Yak 102" G3. I have a 3w106 to put in her. I will mainly being using the plane to huck and do freestyle with. Also as a backup precision plane.

Cans give you better transition and pipes give you hp. Response or power. I would like responce in 3d.

Any brands that would be great to use??? And where can I get them. I am thinking about buying a set from cactus aviation. Also I am wondering if the G3 Yak would it be easy to install pipes. I know it is simple to install the cans.

Ks gives the most power I think. Manfred greeves also give great performance. You can get the manfreds from comp-arf and the ks from there site. If you want cans get bmbs or the mtw from tbm. I know it is easy to put the mtw cans in the g3 or even pipes. Correct me if I am wrong.

You're adding un-needed weight with cans, though - that's food for thought. There is a company that makes CF full-length tuned pipes for 50-55CC cylinders (www.escomposites.com) . both of them weigh about the same as only one MTW cannister, yet they claim 7200 RPM out of a DA 100 on a 27X10 prop! It would be awesome if they made CF cannisters, too...

Dude just run standard mufflers. You already have way more than enough power. No need to add more weight! That thing's going to be a rocket.

Mufflers, and you can run a CF prop to assist in the noise making, I mean noise deadening!!!

I have a 106 that turns a PT Models 27x10, somewhere in the area of 6500R's. No prop rip!!! Food for thought!!!

Chris,

Same combo I have, and I love it. Prolly the best 3D set-up for the 106.
