hi dudes:

Just wondering if is it possible to run my 8611a and 8711 servos using 2cell li-on or li-po batteries w/o regulators or regulated to 7.4v..

i've heard something about this but i would like to know if you have some experience whit this, it would be sweet..

Get you a Super reg from Smart Fly. You just plug the battery into it plug that to you switch and your ready to fly. And you can adjust the voltage.

Jamonraz,

I have no personal experience with this but I do know Jason Noll is doing exactly what your asking about without any trouble.

Yes, but they are the robot servos. The 5955s are the plane version of those servos, and while they will run on an unregulated Li-ion pack, Hitec says not to do it as it will shorten the life, and put your plane at risk.

Remember, as you increase the voltage, the current will also go up and thus more heat is generated. (OHMs Law) The more heat, the shorter the life, but the servos sure do move fast!!
