O.K. maybe shooting him is a little strong. If they were out on the taxiway they should have opened the door and dumped him on tarmac....

did i say that.......???

He has no choice. That guys does not want to lose his job.
He knew he was being video'd and the idiot passenger was just taunting him to do something stupid.

That captain did well in my book.

I think if I had been a passenger on that same flight there would be a good chance I would have spent the night in jail for bitch slapping that fool.

That guy should have immediately been escorted off and dealt with, he should have never been allowed to return to his seat and i think the captain bowed down to a serious breach in security there!!! shame on the captain for that, but more importantly shame on the passenger....

After 911, I made it my policy to keep a watch on a plane of anybody that looked suspicious. I have told my family that if somebody did the box-cutter waving act that terrorists did on 911, it was gonna be their ASS and not mine. That guy would have gotten the welcome of a lifetime if I thought he was a threat. And the door???? Close it. Lock it. Talk to you later at your trial (or mine), pal.

Ya know after 4 hours I think they call that Kidnapping! LOL Yes the crew has no control but there were times this last winter where people were stuck on the tarmac for 8+ hours! No reason for that except the airlines not wanting to refund or reschedule. Should be an FAA rule/Law that if the plane isn't going to take off within the hour then do not board it.
I was in a plane out of Atlanta a few years back that took off and was heading north for a connecting flight. We couldn't land due to snow so they turned us around and we went back to Atlanta. Why?? They new there was a major storm blanking the north with snow! Were they hoping for a miracle? Just playing devils advocate. I am surprised he got that close to the cockpit though!!!

I would have called the airport law enforcement. and had him removed. As far as loosing my job... I'd let the union take care of that. I'm sure this captain got called in to talk to the C/P. It does look like things wear a little loose on that airplane, as far as security goes.

Plane eventually went to the gate and that dude was talked to by the cops for a few hours and then released. I beleive they had the cockpit door open for cooling air since the cabin door was open. The Pack was inop on that plane from what I heard and that's why the dude was bitching cuz it was getting really warm in there. Shut the door and problem solved.

i say let the captains have thier gun. then they could make passingers like this go to the door open it and make them walk the plank so to speak. make them step out of the door or jump or pushed, just take your pick. sounds good to me, but it would never happen. no really people like this should be put on a black list and never be able to fly ever again. make them take greyhound and make them sit in the back seat with all the empty kfc boxes.
