Default New 2007 YAK

Wanted to post a few pics of my new YAK. Hope to have it trimmed and ready to go for the IMAC Nats next week. Anybody know what the sequences look like? :-)

Not sure what the weight is on it, but I'm anticipating the 34 -35 lb. range. Terry Boston built it, and Dave Jones covered and painted it. What a combo!! It's gorgeous in person.

Frank

I have seen the plane in all its stages...and it really looks sweet!
That metallic blue MonoKote is my favorite color! DSP did an awesome job with the finish...the ghosted DA log on the cowl is a must see in person.
If it flys close to last years super Yak...no doubt it will be killer.
Good luck buddy!...give em hell at the NATS.

A brief story from the Joe Nall this past year.

My buddy invited one of his friends down to spend some time with us at the event this past year. I'm not too crazy about this guy and he's primarily into warbirds. WELL, he was watching Frank Noll and his caller fire up Franks big Yak as Frank was waiting to taxi it out one morning. Because the plane had to turn some to get up to the flight line the rudder wasn't straight before moving out to the runway...probably at 30 degrees off center at that moment.

So my friends buddy runs up to Franks caller and goes..."HEY, I just wanted to tell you that your rudder is bent". Franks caller said, "Oh thanks, it's trimmed that way" and Frank proceeded to take off.

My friends buddy then turned to me with a dumb confused look on his face and said.."You know, I think he was playing with me". I laughed and said.."I believe so!"

Thanks! I haven't put any mix in it as it hasn't needed any. I'm going to move the CG back a bit, and see what that does. Can't wait to get practicing!

Same one! I can't wait to get it on the scales and see what the "actual" weight is. Maybe Will can bring his scales to the NATS, and we can do a truth or dare contest with all the planes there!
