Here is a pick of the carbon tape and the spar that joins to the tape.

pics look normal to me. My 2.6 Yak has had every glued joint in it come losse. Not broken just the joint popped loose. The glue was not stuck to any thing. Yesterday I had to leave one wing on the plane in the trailer because the stud in the wing was spinning. Another fine glue joint. ***

comb is not going to help. You need glue .

Indeed -inquiring minds want to know. I ordered an MX-2 today and should have it in a week. I'm curious how I should be going over my new Compy - with a comb, glue, both......... I suppose I could try to get one of those orthoscopic thingies, but what am I looking for? I buy these because I don't know how to make them!

Kinda' chatty - aren't ya', Banker? Suppose your 'settlement' is supposed to be kept private, and I can respect and understand that, but how 'bout some tips as to what we are supposed to look for? What does C-ARF suggest, or should I ask my rep?

One thing you can do, and should do, is a coin-tap test. It is a very simple procedure with a plain ol' coin, like a nickel or quarter (you should have a few of those at your bank, lol!), but it is still a standard, non-destructive field testing that is commonly used in the Airline mx industry, so it should be good for our models.
Just lightly tap on the surface every few inches, all over the surface. Obviously, the sound you hear tapping on just skin will be different than when you tap where the skin bonds to the spar or other structure, but they will both have a solid, "ting" sound. Delamination would be a dull "thud" sound.

Ah hah - that's a good way to test a floor-tile job, too. Same concept. Solid thin/thick set will bounce a ball-bearing, a hollow spot will offer a dull 'thud' and absorb the bounce.

(darn a.d.d. kicked in again, sorry)

I suppose that could check the integrity of adhesion down the wing where visible inspections just cannot be had?

I would talk to my rep. to see what they suggest. I will stand by my original belief that it is unreasonable to expect an inspection of the internal glue joints on the wing. I will tell you that Andy Kane is my rep and he got it taken care of as soon as I gave him the proof of the issue. I will still have out of pocket expenses. The crash was extremely violant.

I'll have to check with my tellers but I believe I can come up with a couple of quarters.
