Default Hangar 9 46% Ultimate

I went up to Virginia yesterday to fly at the field where most of the guys from Radio Active airshows fly. Being new to the team it was an opportunity for me to meet the rest of the gang. Anyhow, part of the show involves two Hangar 9 46% Ultimates, which they were flying around at the field yesterday. As I was watching them both flying Mike thrust the transmitter at me and told me to have a go, so I did!

Just to preface this, I have flown many different airplanes, but this is the first time I've experienced "love at first flight". The Ultimate was one of the sweetest flying airplanes I have flown! As soon as I got on the sticks I immediately "clicked" with the plane and it was as though I had been flying it for months. Running a DA-150 with stock pipes and weighing 40 pounds it had unlimited vertical and punched out of a hover with authority. It tracked like an arrow, harrier rolls were too easy, and as for landing......like a giant trainer. It just floated on down and settled right in which I was surprised at! I expected it to feel heavy on landing but it felt like I was landing my UCD! Poor Mike, he didn't get his plane back that flight because i hogged it up, but I appreciate it!

Great job Mr McConville on a great design!

The H9 Ultimate is awesome. A friend of mine is putting one together now. I'd like to see one fly with a 170cc engine.

Yes and no , I got the plane and a friend got the motor . I put a DA 150 in it . I have to say that he did a great job on the plane . Some of the mods he done Iwill be doing to the yellow one . When I fly it, it like everyone that see it ask who makes it , and it sits right beside my yellow one . I have 1 8611a per ail and 1 8611a per elv. and 4 8411 on the rudder . It flys great and 3D very nice.
