38% columbo 300L
Hey guys A friend of mine wants to trade his columbo extra for my F-106 DF jet. I want to do it and i hope he will like the jet enought to swap. It isnt completely finished and i dont know what is left to do on it. I was wondering if it really needs a 150 because it isnt as big as a 40%?

What type of flying do you plan to do, what is the weight, I would recomend a 150 unless your light like 35 or 36 lbs but I think they are closer to 38. A 120 weights the same as a 150 or 160 any way go with the 150

I would suggest leaving the 150 in it. It balances perfect with the 150's. That airplane has a very long tail moment. They fly awesome and from time to time I wish I had mine back.

I have a 38% Columbo Anderson... (For Sale)... and it would be unhappy with anything less then a 150.... one of the old 3W 140's would fly it OK...

Thanks guys I am just getting the airframe, no motor or electronics. I was thinking a 160 actually I like power.

Man Dunny that scheme is sick! The plane looks awesome as well. I've always liked how CA models look. Nice tail moments, they probably fly so straight.

Thanks guys,
judging by that video that bird flies great. I like the long tail moment and CA's are the only ones that meet the length that i want for IMAC. Does Kyle have cans in that? it looked like it but i didnt see any exits just headers in the cutout on the cowl.

We have another name for Columbo Anderson Extras....
"Bow Flex".... Not the Stiffest chopstick in the basket... A 170 used unjudiousiously would rattle that woody to death!!! |
