Default Christen Eagle ready for maiden!

If the weather is good I'm going to maiden my Christen Eagle II. It's powered by a Moki 2.10.... Should have really good verticle.. Any hints would be appreciated... Pitts and Christen Eagle flyers, you have any thoughts?

Where the center strut connects to the wing, the screws tend to come out. If you haven't already, consider gluing a dowel with 30 minute epoxy in that area and harden the screw hole with CA. While the airplane tends to want to fly fast on landing, as long as the CG isn't at the most forward position, you'll be fine. Enjoy your new plane.

I have one with a fuji 50 and it flies great. It's a fun plane that does scale aerobatics well. Definitely bring the plane down with some power. It doesn't take long to get use to it.

Landing will be the hardest part. Our field isn't the biggest and corn all around it. The good thing is I can take off and land in any direction. I guess I will just use a steep discent. Does this plane slow down once on the ground fast?

If done the way I am used to, the Eagle has a larger tail group than the Pitts. It was always my experience that the Eagle landed slower and softer than the Pitts did. With that being said they both liked to be flown in on the mains then chop the power and let the tail settle in.

They are a blast to fly and to watch. Have fun. I am wantin another one now........ :~

Hi - I got to put the maiden flight & a few more on one. It flew really nice (Fuji 50), but kept nosing over on landing. It was two or three broken props - I don't suck too bad on flying & couldn't figure this one out. Luckily my buddy, Nick, looked it over and noticed there as black fuzz on one of the wheel pants. Make sure there is adequate clearance for the wheels in the wheel pants opening! The foam wheels would lean over easily if a change in direction was made & it was like hitting the brakes hard!

Roger that on the landing bounce. This was hard surface landings & it did like to bounce. "All your landings looked okay" (voices from the peanut gallery after the bouncy landings)

One things was true - wow it looked fantastic!!! I really liked the color scheme & whole deal!

YEAH, I'm really excited about getting this one in the air.... Can't tell huh. I just hope the weather cooperates. I ran two tanks through it yesterday in my backyard and Moki is a horse. I bought it used and it seems like it has been broke-in. My last moki took a few gallons to break it in.

Watch the bounce if it starts bouncing abort and go around. That plane will ground loop in a heart beat. Flys scale may be a bit underpowered I had ZDZ 50 in mine flew good. Have fun bye the way you dont need the flying wires I flew with out them and flew it hard.

Flying wires are a pain in the butt. So they won't be used.

I had one with a Brison 3.2 in it, the plane flies great. It has a big elevator and you maybe should use some expo on that and as stated keep a little power on it on your final and you will be fine. Just remember fly it all the way to the ground and you should be ok, it's a beautiful plane in the air and looks even bigger in the air.
